Downloaded nQuake to play some good ol QW. The problems im having are:

1) When I alt+tab or vid_restart, the gamma goes very dark and i have to change the gl_gamma settings to get it back. I've tried some gamma related cvars but didnt work.

2) Is there a way to get Q3 hitsounds and Q3 gibs?

3) How do I get my enemy model skin green?

nemecel I could answer all of these questions but its better if you take all of your questions to IRC

go on QuakeNet and join the channel #qwrookie

It might take half an hour or maybe even two hours but youll eventually meet someone who will answer any if not all of your questions just be patient

vid_forcerestoregamma 1

I can understand how the hitsound on QW would distort the gameplay, but how about some cool gib effect like the q3 effect on QW?

try r_skincolormode 4 and 5

or you can use Primevil's 24bit green skin.

Should be included with ezquake or nquake but im not 100% sure. You can get them here http://gfx.quakeworld.nu/details/3/primevil-24bit-skins/

Use r_skincolormode 1 so it looks normal.

Yeah, i was able to select it on the menu. Now I need q3 gibs or just better gibs, and the best models out there, and just the best gfx out there, so I can show a nice qw match to my friends without being seen as a weird cunt playing a 10+ year old game

Just go into the graphics options and you can change gibs, explosions etc for whatever effect you want (as long as it's in quake)

Not sure what you mean, but if you type "ready" when you have another player on the server in duel mode, then the countdown will start and unless the other player goes ready within 30 seconds, he's kicked from the server, leaving space for someone who will actually play.

All said you can choose if you want to allow warmup with godmode on/off or no warmup at all serverside in Q3 but you can't in QW. Lame. Period.
