the whole qlranks.com thing made me think about using my tdm stats data for calculating an elo ranking. so thats what i did ;)
the ranking is based on official tournament matches only (EC XXII, ESL EMS XII, ESH FTP Div 1, EC XXIII, pre DH online Cup, DHS 2011)
- i will add qcon, hoq div 1 and the current ec when i find the time and motivation sometime

the elo ranking is calculated from map wins, see the lua script if u are interested in details (warning: not exactly clean coding).
keep in mind that the elo system needs a lot of matches to have any real meaning, the stats below are flawed. but hey, its not meant to be anything but a fun thing. the teams being so unstable doesnt help either

so here is the ranking: (excluding teams that have less than 14 maps played)

btw i got a question about the k-factor in the elo calculation, on wikipedia it says:

FIDE uses the following ranges:[14]
K = 30 (was 25) for a player new to the rating list until s/he has completed events with a total of at least 30 games. [15]
K = 15 as long as a player's rating remains under 2400.
K = 10 once a player's published rating has reached 2400, and s/he has also completed events with a total of at least 30 games. Thereafter it remains permanently at 10.

if someone with lots of matches and a 2400+ ranking played a so far unranked player, would the k factor be 30 or 10 or different for both?
always used the same and highest k-factor in my calculation, made the most sense to me

but isnt it sad to see how few of those teams are still alive (+active)?
out of those 15 teams only 4k, xt, aCt and D9 are still playing atm

It is a shame. From our point of view really streaming takes a priority.

Could you just add all the ClanBase cups from the start of quake live, there were not that many, and all the EMS?
