Hi,
There is a high pitch noise coming from my shitty old CRT monitor every time when I switch to 1280x1024 or higher. It's working fine in lower res. I use my computer and also play everything in 1152x864x144Hz, (expect quake what I play in 1024x768@125Hz)
But I would need the hihger res to be able to work with 3D software. It's tarted a few months ago, and it's getting louder and louder. I can hear it inside my headphones now, and I have to switch back to lower res after a few minutes or I go mad:(.
I googled a lot about this, but I didn't find anything about how to fix it. (I found some disappointing examples however)
Is there a professional electrician around, I would need some help here please. I'm pretty experienced with computer hardware and I also knew about this phenomenon, but I don't have enough knowledge about monitors from the inside.
I can solder very precisely if it's needed, but first I must know if this can be fixed or not, and what's exactly should be replaced/changed if it's fixable, or is that linked page is right and I need to rewire the whole thing, ergo I would need a new monitor?
