Personally I think we need duel + TDM or CTF. Ideally it would be great if we could focus on the 3 of them. :3

first off if we focus on ctf we need more maps. with the map pool that tdm has, we have at least a couple of new times which are also widely accepted and played.

ctf on the other hand lacks competitive maps

What maps are you missing? I didnt play CTF in Q3 so the only map I've heard about is Spiders Crossings.

However I totally agree that ID should release more CTF maps. I also believe that they already have some maps ready for release, but haven't been able to deploy the update yet.

I don't want to see old maps implemented in QL again. I want fresh, new maps so no one has an advantage.

CTF and TDM would've probably gained a larger following than Duel if those were the prime gametypes starting in 2009. Right now Quake Live has few players left and a change wouldn't do much.

ID made it quite clear with QL that they didn't give a fuck about the CTF communities world wide.

yeah by having quakecon with ctf and adding several ctf maps on release? ctf was given a chance for sure but the community fizzled into non-excistance, tdm had nothing in the beginnig, dm6 and dm7 rofl. still tdm grew purely out of community work and eventually got a few updates

just because the community bored of duel you have to consider QL have to appealing primarily for outsider now, and for them its just much easier to understand what happening on the screen. TDM is good for a side-show but QL gonna die in the minute duel taken down from lineups.

well it looks like dreamhack is only TDM.
