I'm playing on a netbook right now, and want to buy a real pc that handles Quakelive well for a small buck. I'm not into computers, meaning I prefer not to play around with the installation myself.
Looking on ebay, I find the following pre-built computer for 330€, with the prices from hardwareversand.de for apporimately the same parts adding up to about 260-290€:
AMD Phenom II X4 840 Box AM3 87,60€
4GB-Kit GEIL Value Plus PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 CL9 27,50 x 2 = 55
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA II 16MB 36€
Gigabyte Radeon HD 6570 OC, 1024MB GDDR3, PCI-Express 58
ASRock N68-S3 UCC, Sockel AM3, mATX 35
ATX miditower + power supp 40€
amd cu cooler + dvd-rw
What do you think about those parts for Quakelive/ for a computer to play some games on in general? Appreciate your input.
