what do you have to show for yourself? he's made an entire mod. You?
thats' what i thoughtReally? I suspect not...
Maybe they just don't want you to see it, whether you'd like to or not. Maybe, and more importantly, they don't want somebody else to see it.
Thing is, in the end it's their house. Posting is a privilege.
Changing colour schemes is a feature they want you to have, seeing posts they deem nuke-worthy is one they do not want you to have. That's all.
oh, so they're power hungry control freaks.
they both revolve around preferences of the user about how they want to see the site.
You seem to want the power to control what you see, so what is the difference?
One is how you see the site, and the other is the content on the site that you see.
my power to control what I see is not having any power OVER anyone else (
and who would i be hurting if i saw these nuked comments?
oh, so they're power hungry control freaks. if you just said that in the very beginning, it would have been easier.
that's not a good reason for nuking, that's an empty excuse. if i was to put on glasses that magically saw comments spray painted onto a home, how would it be bad? who exactly would i be hurting?
obviously. i just don't see how one could be justified as being allowed and another one not being allowed. they both revolve around preferences of the user about how they want to see the site.
world of difference - this unhide function would be available for individual users who are curious to see what that comment was. if people really don't want to be offended, then they wouldn't click 'unhide'.Nuking is just a way to delete unwanted posts whilst keeping the thread and comment structure intact.

For the most part, the comments are instead deleted and as such you wouldn't even know about it. Or are you also asking that deleted comments should be visible if you clicked something? That is a bad idea, as they can be anything from spam, to double posts, to "I will rape your child"; making for a bad environment SEO-wise and from a sponsor standpoint. Not to mention it clutters up the site.
However, I cannot deny that sometimes I am curious myself of what the nuked or deleted comments were. Though thankfully I can check that :)
I can even see that you deleted a post in this thread, so you obviously don't live as you learn since you don't even want your own comments to be displayed at times.
that was simply because i wanted to post those comments as a reply to demiurge and not as an addition to the thread (i forgot to press reply, or i replied to the wrong thing, feel free to check those posts if you're able to). my editing comments are simply for spelling mistakes so that people can understand what i say easier. So what you are basically saying is that deleting posts are always bad except when you do it, for you always have good reasons for it?
