Well, this would just be a place to gather people that wanna play in clans and clans that look for these people. I'd imagine this a good way to find dedicated players and add them to your clan on probation. I mean after all you can still kick people if you can't get along with them.

There are however things that you can do, citty. You can write down all the things that this application should do, maybe create mockup screenshots etc.

ImHo, if anything, this should be a proposal, nothing else. If something like this wants to really be benefitial to the community, by involving the ones who do not use IRC, it can -- again imHo -- only work within the QL application (and one of the recent threads here implied that ID are indeed working on clan related things like this or at least have it on the list with a higher priority).

Sounds like it's already been done. Look up Rize Nexus. Not too sure if this is the same thing that you're talking about but if it is then it's been done already and it's pretty well done.

Seems neat, unfortunately without it being directly built into the QL site and it requiring a lot of user interaction, it likely wouldn't last or pickup much steam.

QL ranks isnt all that popular tbh. Could be alot better than what it is if they added support for additional game modes.

And I agree with andy, i can help but i dont think the concept is worth investing time into considering the current state of the game. its a great idea, but i feel theres several other pressing issues that are in need of attention which will greatly overshadow any chance this has at being successful regardless of how well its implemented

But there's over 30,000 ql duelers? and by this time next year there will probably over 200,000 ql duelers and then in 2013 1 million 400 thousand duelers and then in 2018....

This would have been nice 2 years ago. But it just reeks of desperation now. It's too bad they were too busy defending ql when they should have agreed with the people warning them the game was in decline.

Right, however it has no management aspect at all. It is simply a reporting tool.

I type in your name and I'm more or less done. I haven't really exerted any effort to obtain this information, and I certainly did not spend any time to manage it.

That is the main difference between the two sites. You have to remember as well you'd essentially be asking users to sign up to another service/site, somehow get them to stay, ensure they maintain their "profile", or some profile to an extent (in order for some sort of "Hey I just left X team looking for Y team that fits credentials of ABC"). That is just the "player" side of the site and there is certainly more to describe about it.

Aside from that, there would have to be captains that manage their teams, and they now have to maintain their team in order for it to be effective for the entire user-base that uses this site. For example, if I decide I'm looking for a team as a free agent, and try to look for specific criteria (let's say I'm a great flag D player and I want to look for teams looking for... A flag D!), then I would certainly have to hope that the captain of the team is maintaining the clan/team profile page to contain consistently updated information. Anything less makes this kind of lookup useless and a waste of time.

I can already see it struggling to be a useful tool within the first month of its existence just by going over a few things in my head for a few minutes. I'm not trying to bring things down and smash anyone's dreams, but this community doesn't have the collective enthusiasm to support such an initiative in the long run. Not yet at least, and unsure if it ever will given it's current state.

Based on what? Based on their false claim that over 30,000 duelers are playing on it, without seperating unique users from that tally? There aren't even 30,000 quake live players playing the game anymore...
