BTW: I just read reddit sc2 thread. Apparently, loads of people loved it. As someone said " Less you play, more interesting it's to watch".
Quake is so fast. Honestly too fast to be enjoyable. Unreal I can do...quake is crazy
Quakelive is awful. Used to enjoy it but now it's full of tier slummers and Clan Filth. Why anyone would pay for it is beyond me.
I enjoyed watching it for a bit, but I don't see myself getting into watching it regularly. I recognize the skill involved and like watching it for a few minutes but it's not something I would really tune in for
Same here. I was in a Quake clan way back in the day but even I couldn't get into watching more than a few games at a time. I'd much rather play than watch
I don't think a game like QL would draw nearly enough participants for it to be on the circuit.
If it was shown as filler in-between Starcraft games, I'd keep watching, but I would never choose to watch it if there's an SC2 game on at the same time.
Same, and I'm not sure I'd really watch much more than the finals.
It would definitely be a risk to MLG. Quake is dying and right now I don't think the number of people who follow quake would make it worth while for MLG
It also has a super small player pool. It might get boring seeing the same names every event. One thing I really like about sc2 right now is any tournament is really anyones game, and ql just..isnt that anymore.
The game is way too hard to get into competitively. The top players have been playing the same game on probably the same maps for like a decade, getting up to that level is not an easy task no matter how skillful you are at shooting games. I personally find Quake Live dull because of all of the randomness from spawnkilling and prefiring
Thank you. There are good reasons quake is a good, but limited, spectator sport, and the fact that it's been around for so long actually doesn't help. The free kills plus the deadtime once one player has a huge lead are big deals
I think it's more of a skill ceiling thing. The skill ceiling on Quake is so high that only a small handful of players are capable of beating guys like cypher, rapha, cooller.
Also, even with high interest from the starcraft folks, no one would be watching, because there always is SC going on somewhere.
I'd probably prefer watching Starcraft if I had to choose.
I wouldn't watch. Quake was interesting as a filler because I wasn't familiar with it, but I'd never watch Quake if Starcraft was on, and if it wasn't on the Starcraft stream I wouldn't bother turning it on.
it is an extremely complex game so it's hard to get new people to stick with it. Even the movement is unnatural for new players.
I have no interest in watching FPS games and would probably not watch quake for more than a few minutes.
Same. Nothing against the game, I'm just not personally a fan of the genre. Same reason I don't watch baseball or football.
know, i know im stupid..but whats Quake - and what is QuakeLive?
