Anyone own this? My 21" Crt is starting to blur and was going to pick up one of these brand new. A toss up between this and the new benq LED coming out. I kind of want to stay with crt though.
I had been using the HP P1130 for a while, which seems to be very similar to the P1230 (but 21 instead of 22 inch). 800x600@160hz worked out-of-the-box with ati+win7 64 bit. For quake it works very well but then it's a huge monster on your table and for modern games + watching movies + daily work I absolutely prefer a 120hz widescreen lcd.
went for the CRT. i figure i can always buy the benq down the road. brand new crt probably isn't easy to come by. besides I have a 23" lcd for other uses.
I own two HP p1130, and one HP p1230 which I am on at the moment.
I read somewhere that people liked the HP p1130's more because of the Sony Trinitron tube but I think they are just fan boys of Sony because my Mistubishi Diamondtron is much nicer than the Trinitrons.
Having said that I do have two problems with my HP p1230. The first one is when starting up my computer the screen has trouble displaying certain start up pages and the screen just rolls and makes a screeching noise which isn't good for the monitor, so I just have it turned off until windows has loaded.
The second problem which is frustrating is on the lower right hand corner of my display the thin wires behind the glass plate get magnetized and group together causing very very faint black lines. I spent hours searching to try and find a fix for this and stumbled upon a technician who said just give the side/back of your crt a smack to free the wires. This works every time.
I am still looking for a nice 120hz LCD monitor though, this is too huge to carry around.
