I also prefer intel + nvidia, but perhaps it would be better to go with a X4-955 + HD6870 with such a "low" budget and overclock it to oblivion.

Does the power consumption matters for you?

edit.: on the other hand, I just red that Diablo3 is only uses two threads.. The i3-21xx Sandy Bridge is a very strong CPU, but you won't be able to overclock in the future.

I don't know, guess not :) it's indeed low budget but it's all I can afford atm (maybe + €100).

There is a big problem with Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs: The first overclockable CPU is the i5-2500k which is very expensive, anything lower is enough now, but you have to sell it if you need a stronger CPU.. are you ok with that?

Why it needs to be OC-ed? I don't really need it for future purpose, just D3 :) I mean decent CPU + decent GFX should be enough for it and I hope Blizzard optimizes tthe game well so it won't need 2011-2012 brand new PC.

Well, the thing is, I don't really play any games besides Quake and D3 in future. I've lived past 10 years knowing that I can't touch any new game, which could be decent, I've already accepted that state of mind and I'm fine with that :)

Yeah I would probably say something with an i3. All the i processors are stupid fast. I upgraded recently and was disgusted to see the lower level sandy bridge pentiums were like 4 times faster than my (quite expensive 2 years previously) core 2 duo.

Sandy Bridge is a miracle in CPU terms, and they are superfast indeed, but not 4 times:)

-Mainboard is only H61 but still has usb3 and sata6 options like the big boys...
- I don't know what kind of a monitor do you have, but the 560ti is doing very well at 1280x1024 and it's fine even at 1650x1080 in most games.
-PSU is a very reliable one, I have it in one of my builds (550W version) for 2 years now and the 5V weakened only 0.01V with almost 24/7 usage:) (I changed the fan, but only to make it silent)
-Ram doesn't matter I picked the cheapest know brand tbh.

I'd cheap out on the rig, and save your money for in-game items. Diablo 3 is pay2win.

first of all I would like to know your whole pc setup. QL/D3 wont need much cpu/gpu power so maybe ur current setup can make it with 1 or 2 upgrades but maybe it will be more useful to save ur money untill q5 is out.

since d2 + lod system recommendations werent enough for a 8 people party with more than 2 summorer I would recommend 4-8 GB RAM and a lot of HDD space

gfx settings arent important as a fluent gameplay when u want to grab the decent items in a 8 people party ;)
I recommend 8 GB RAM and a decent cpu over a highend-gpu. A medium gpu should do the work (even at highest settings). Its still d3 not crysis2.
