Do you have the latest version of the catalyst drivers?

Quake works better with older drivers. If anything he should downdate them.

I'm asking because there was an older driver version causing that bug. I don't use an amd card anymore so I don't know how well quake works with the newest drivers.

my 6870 works fine newest drivers

older drivers used to cause that... upgrade to the latest catalyst...
