a 500€ final is something to get excited about, but anon put the right question on top. with the history the esl has onpaying out prizes for tournaments like this we might aswell treat the ems as a tournament without prices until we know something changed

i just remember discussion where more and more teams/players turned up saying that they did not / that it had been over like 2 years. not only speaking about ems but various maller esl tournaments (both ql and sc2). as much as i wondered why this was not made a public issue (i guess mostly because everyone got used to it) i wonder why it was not made public when everything got cleared up. as much as my opinion might be unjustified its still not good for the esl if people associate the esl with not paying prices. and that i (and others) do.

no, but what does that have to do with anything? (its a problem for the whole "esports" ecosystem and thus for spectators aswell in the end) in any way, lets not argue about wether its okay to pay prices month after when they should ,it has been done often enough.

Lets just say, ask Four Kings or Fnatic if they received their prize money of EMS6. By my known EMS6 has been paid out at the start of EMS9, so they should have received it.

Obviously people will not start bragging about the fact they received their prize money because it is seen as normal. Just like bad word of mouth is kept in mind while "good points" are seen as normal.

Also, TE is aware of this and is trying to shorten it, probably a matter of time...

As you say yourself... lets not argue about prize money being paid out months after... I think this has been cleared then.

On the other hand, it's rather sad that Quake loses an other competitive league with prize money after EMS9.

Simplified: prize money is 2 seasons behind, EMS10 will be announced soon so an other season will be paid out soon, that would mean Quake has only EMS8 left to be paid out and it is highly unlikely that no EMS11 will follow due to the success of other games in EMS. So... no worries for the Quake community if what crea says ever would happen. Comprender?

Yeah it's not like that most players don't give a fuck about the game, can't show up at a given date or even replay to a simple answer in support but rather spam esreality with their whine and crap about how the game is dying etc. It's not only the pros it happened in buli this season, cb tdm and several other duel likes I tried to attend. But y blame esl who gave duel a last chance with a 1000€ prizepool fucking moron.

ugh god fuck no ^^ after listening to some old ugc tournaments with 2gd and joe casting you can really tell how shit zoot and all the new casters are compared to them. Either have joe on his own or with someone who can actually give a decent analysis of the game rather than these new casters who just describe what's on the screen in front of them then and there which we can all see for ourselves anyway ffs

Exactly. The very least for what he can get my props is that he stands up and actually casts. If not for him there would be literally no casters for 1v1 online competition for English-speaking community.

maybe you should listen to some of your beloved oldschool casters like fishsticks & slasher.. really leave zoot alone. hes doing awesome and its pointless to compare every caster to the 2gd/joe combo we once had
