Just recently I started to embrace this beauty of a Videogame. A real pleasure to watch and play.

After watching almost all of the available Jaedong VODs with english commentary (VioleTAK-Channel on youtube), I wondered if you guys have favourite games or must-see-games I really have to watch. Preferebly with english commentary, since I'm still learning the mechanics and somehow need the in-depth analysis.

Just to be clear: I want BW-VODs, not SC2.

I'd love to play it as it seems like the only competitive game with a large community at the moment, but I'm woeful at RTS, and the amount of time it'd take me to learn the basics and then the millions of intricacies of StarCraft itself.. Well, on top of every game I already have it's just too much time to invest in something I might never be any good at. :(

Yeah, well. I'm not really trying to 'get good' at it. Just so much to have fun playing it with real-life friends.
It's WAY too complicated to catch up with good players in 2012 I guess.

Me too! If you're not so much better than me that you make me rage after 2 minutes, I'll gladly play a few games. I haven't played in a few months, but a few months ago I only played for a couple months, and then there's a few years of non-playing before then. And I've never been good at anything except maybe Poker Defense or Vulture Micro.

i'd say im pretty bad, i haven't been in touch with brood war until sometime last year (from 2007, so that's 4 years or something). i've no clue about builds anymore, my mechanics are shit retarded, etc :) anyway, /f a bmk.esdf when you log on ;)

I'm watching the game since ~3 months and started playing vs. friends 3 weeks ago or something. (played the PC for longer, but that really sucks)
So I'm VERY bad. :)
Micro wise I'm nothing, macro wise a can probably "control" like three bases maybe.

We just played a PvZ (I was the Zerg)... oh my god was it horrible. I Fraps'd the whole thing, and am going to sit through a large portion of it and laugh at how bad I am at this game.

If you like zerg, and you're out of Jaedong, I'd recommend GGPlay.

I dunno if there is an English cast, but his games against Iris in the 2007 OSL grand finals were pretty good.

@vedic - jd is slumping atm unfortunately, with the rest of team8.

anyway, if you're a zerg fan just watch savior... that man was ahead of his time, a proper legend. other notable zergs: july, effort (his plays have a bit of savior in them tbh :D), jd back in the day when he didnt slump, yellow & chojja. from protoss players - reach, kingdom, anytime, bisu, jangbi, stork and recently stats (my favorite being reach - the mantoss himself). and as far as terrans go... oh well, oov, flash, nada, boxer, fantasy, etc...

if you want some really pimp plays:
Reach's Lockdown (UZOO MSL 2005) -> full game: here
Nada's salvation army (also UZOO MSL 05), full game
Reach vs iloveoov (massive zealot bomb - DO NOT MISS IT)

There's a problem of the community going through a transition from SCBW to SC2 right now, and no way to know if SCBW will even be around for much longer. If you're interested in SC2, there's plenty of coverage - especially in English.

well in april it'll be announced probably that bw progaming teams are moving to sc2, and this season's proleague is split in 2 halves, up to april, and from june i think, so i guess the 2nd part proleague might be in sc2.
