on the top position between lg and top rl, the opponent may also get the spawn in the corner near the door leading to gl if you stand close enough to the wall and back to the ledge, making it the best position if you are in need of frags imo
if you stand on (or a bit behind) the red the opponent can spawn in the bottom door connecting the ra and mh room, where you can see him, it's always good to spam rockets or grenades or something.
if you are at the tele exit, or even on some parts of the shardy bridge in mh room, the opponent can get the lg spawn. doesn't happen very often but spamming a rocket doesn't hurt.
since the spawn update the spawns in mh room are often funny, the opponent quite often spawns at rl when you are just on the other side of the central pillar, something to keep in mind if you are low after a fight at ra (i guess it could be abused as well by spamming rockets at the spawnpoints while standing somewhere around the ammo boxes in the water, but i've not seen anyone ever do it. it's better to just stand in the doorway between the two main rooms and listen. you probably won't be able to see / hurt the opponent but if you hear him you may block them from getting any important items/weapons)

a small recommendation: you should show every spawn point first, both in-game and in top view, and then explain how the system works there, spawn killing and so on.

I'm starting to play duel (since I got a free premium account) and learning spawns in some maps is a pain in the ass.

Also, are there any fixed starting spawns in those maps with a million spawn points? dm13 and t7 are good examples, and you could explain what to do in each scenario.
Same goes for other maps with aleatory starting spawns but there are some youtube videos about that already (saw 2 played in ztn).

Covering the start spawn points is a good subject. Prettyawesome did a video on ztn, and it would be nice to have more for all maps.

I'd be glad to investigate into that. Besides the brute force approach (which is still feasible but meh), does anyone know how to check which spawns are marked as start spawn points?

Wolfcam has that feature. I don't remember the command but CTRL+f for spawnpoint in the readme should find it for you.

There seems to be a mismatch between what one sees in QL and in WolfcamQL.



Apparently, WolfcamQL only displays info_player_deathmatch entities, while info_player_start are also valid spawns (in FFA at least).

Nicely done. Do you know if the distance to spawns are in a 3d-plane or just 2d? That is the thing that I never was able to just get a good feel for.

Also, some of the spawns displayed on t7 I have never spawned at. The one on top in the middle room, towards the gl corridor. Not even once :)

As program I use what once was called Deep Exploration, and now is called SAP Visual Enterprise Author. It's a nice visualization tool, but not free. The process of bringing the maps in and visualize the spawns is manual and labor intensive.
