Death Adder is heavy, with a resistant cable, although I have no experience with other mice.

I've had a death adder about a year, no problems so far.

The only problem I have is the mousewheel sometimes doesn't rest at the proper position and occasionally immitates a mouseup or mousedown, almost by itself. So sometimes i find myself asking for a weapon when I dont really need a weapon :( Then again it could be dirt or tobacco that fell in near the sensor.

I only use the scrollwheel for browsing. I started quake with a 2 button mouse, and I only used one button :P

In TDM you need all the buttons you can!

How/where did the cable break on your G9X?

In the middle of the cable where it bends as you move your mouse up and down.

I can't imagine the cable on my DA ever breaking in this manner... lol. And I do find it hard to imagine a normal cable breaking like this, I don't think you are anchoring it at the optimal distance or something. Or maybe it was already not-visibly broken when you bought it!

The G9 has a thick crappy cable on it. It's exactly like a ruler, it can bend a bit, but eventually snaps :)

Get an MX518 or a Death Adder, nice and heavy. The MX518 is probably more durable.

I've had my Death Adder for over 2 years now and its still perfect. I've had the Razer Goliathus Control Edition for the same time and need to buy a new one right now cos it now has too much friction for me from the abuse I've given it (Spilling alcohol on it etc/)

Have my DA 3G for 3 years. But using it with Goliathus Speed Alpha edition for same amount of time.

Logitech G400 is something to consider, get the one that has the angle snapping removed.

I tried the Sensei, it was pretty heavy to me. Sensor was alright, nothing special. It definitely has some weight to it.

g400 is really good, but it's not heavy

how can u put the mx500 over the mx518? it had a ton of negative accel

there was a utility for fixing that. As far as I know nobody was using it with negative accel. If u didn't use that, then it was bad, but with no accel was much better than the mx518 imo

the utility u speak of, it's just the HIDUSBF driver, the one needed to OC the usb port over 125 hz.

MX500 had perfect control until 1 m/s with 125 hz, and 4 m/s with 500 hz

ye i remember that, oc the usb to get rid of it, point is the mx518 isnt far behind and is far easier to get then a mx500, ive had a mx500 a 510 and 2x 518

Yeah, It was too heavy for me. After 3 months it broke though, the sensor just totally played up. and yes, as well as me I used it instead of the mx518 :P I had to take out the weights and it still felt really chunky

buy a comfortable brick + put any good sensor in it + some mousefeet = PROFIT!

The only good thing about that mouse was the tin it came in. I actually still have it (the tin), use it for misc computer parts/wiring/connectors/etc.

I used it as a hard shell for a birdnest I made for a sparrow family which is coming back every year to breed the new generation:)

- Get some lead coin or w/e
- Paste it stuck inside wherever preferred
- Profit?!

Corsair M90 is really heavy and is built like a tank. Quality hardware. side buttons are seriously stiff so you wont accidentally click them (which also makes them useless anyway).

Software is crap though. and size may be an issue if you have large hands.
