Having 2 matches for the qualified players at one day could be a viable alternative (playday 1+2, then playday 2 + qf, then sf+gf).

Dism is bad map mate.. better go with dm6. Why?
1. It's the second most played duel map in quake live after ztn(good for the casual viewer).
2. We haven't see it for a while in the map pool, so it should be interesting.
3. It is defo better than dism.

Edit: even battlesh1t is better, same for heksh1t and t9.

Well, I can agree with 1. But I can tell the same about 2 and 3 about Dismemberment. You like the map, that's ok. But don't force me to start giving you links to dm6 epic games... we both know how many of them are there. I personally don't like that much dm6 either(tho more than dism), but I think it's,much better map choice. Or atleast other map, just not one that will be played twice in the tourney. I played just a few times phrantic, so I am not competent enough to talk about it. From what I played/saw this map is for pql(cpm), but I can easly be wrong. Cheers! :)

Difference is that campgrounds is overplayed - dismemberment has room to offer new situations

The game is evolving/changing. Things like weapon balance/hitbox size/jump heigh can lead to new situations. Also, the casual viewer will want to see how the pros are playing on his most played map so he can step up his game, not to watch them on map that is not played AT ALL outside of tourneys(not like someone plays it there). Watch pro players profiles to see how much they care for that map, I am not even starting to talk for casual players. Dismemberment is shit map, and the whole "new situation" thing can go for dm1 too with same success why not go with it?

tl:dr I don't like dm6, but I do think that there is no point to include not played maps in the map pool. When some casual player tune in to the stream, if he see this shit he will just close it. The second point is that maps like dism are not picked, so why include them? I said dm6, because its second most played map.

tl:dr for the tl:dr t7, hub, dm13, toxic is all that good players actually plays nowdays. Ztn can be included in some degree too. There you go: 5 maps pool.

You said yourself the game is evolving - then we shouldn't go backwards by reintroducing maps like campgrounds.

Also saying that players want to watch pros play maps that they practice on isn't strictly true. If they see pros playing maps they aren't familiar with then it is also an incentive to learn those new maps. It could go both ways, but the only way to keep QL evolving is if the competitive map list doesn't remain stale. Although I agree, t9 still had some play time left on it - though I wouldn't say t9 is any more exciting than dismemberment.

New situations can't be created on dm1 when there is such a limit of space, weapons and items (just to clarify).

It's not. All the great matches always have turned to happen in ZTN after some morons complained of overplayed. A mappool without ZTN is a shit mappool.

I think you should really concider throwing out Dismemerment and replace it with T9 House of Decay. Nobody is interested in playing Dismemberment, a slow map with imo little creativity and alot of repetitive play. This championship could mark the return of House of Decay. Which is, unlike Dismemberment, a non-prem map. (just saying)
