Last time I tried I couldn't set my refreshrate to 120 hz, the netcode was horrible and the graphics were 1999. Playing it on a small lan still was fun for some hours though.

im not the biggest fan of this client, all looks like q3a but not so good. but the idea of a free client with mod compatibility was great - before quakelive...

its not compatible with q3 servers. you can play the mods and maps on openarena servers, but compatibility with q3 servers was given up after version 0.7.1

what's the point of playing this if it's a q3 clone? why not just regular q3?

some ppl call it a clone, not all. maybe to call it that is an insult :x

its a free client, ppl love things for free, and it uses the ioquake3 engine. a handfull of total conversions used it to built a own game (wop, urban terror, tremulous etc). ioquake got some features.

if there wasnt quakelive maybe this could be an alternitive to q3. somebody mentioned here the OA devs dont want competitive features.
