Yeah, so if you need a quick 180 flick because you get kicked back with rocket knockback you need to do really retarded hand movements due low sens and no accel.
He wanted a solution to the shaky problem with his lg, i gave him my answer. Ofc there's problems associated with all sens but that's not what this topic is about.
This actually works, quite allot. But only for the LG. Its probably because of the mind has less to calculate when the sound is out of the picture. Which means, in my personal experience, that I need to train on my multitasking. Which means, that I am that kind of player that can be abused in certain situations just because of that first single sound "that made me rush for the mid-upper level at lg" on hub".
Fuck. I can believe that I'm learning while i'm writing this. This is probably one of the reasons that this game is still alive,
tbh multitasking is just means how fast you are able to switch on concentrating different things, so i really think it wont help a shit here. You should rather ignore the should and focus on firing. Also dodging / aimin is mostly just messing opponents move pattern and then abusing the fact that he cant "fool" you as he have to move in certain way..
Hitting mg is obviously easier as it doenst have kickback and as people doesnt actively dodge against it as they know it wont make them melt in 2secs...
Probably has something to do with the g9 sensor. Usually when I'm shaky I'm either not warmed up or my low sens. The problem with low sens is sometimes it puts your wrists in a weird position.
1st - they are confident in their game
2nd - years of experience
ps. btw at yesterday's zotac I was quite surprised by p0ni's lg - it was fucking sick. for example on dm13 he sometimes outaimed cypher while being in unfavorable position. Also he made many positioning and illogical mistakes. He really could be top4-5 material at least online if he payed more attention to his strategical play.
There was a time when he was top4-5 material online, just before DH when he was practicing the most, and his LG is indeed infamous, from Madrid to Moscow.
Well I guess it's kinda hard to improve for him because the only chance to play better playees is zotac and 1-2 bo3 a week is not much. Imo there are k1llsen, cypher, strenx. Rest is just cannon fodder or rather say no improvement material for him. The other top tier player don't play at all :O
MG is so much easier because people fear it less and they usually aren't hitting you with their LG while you are using it (at least I hope they aren't).
while lg-ing is your left hand tense too ? try to relax your left hand, tension can go through your arms/shoulders/back of your neck and make your two hands communicate. if one is tense the other can be. of course it goes the other way, relax one hand to relax the other. it's a violin tip. other violin tip : try holding your mouse differently, even in a strange way (for example with the tip of your fingers) and practice against bots. you will find out it's possible even if it's whack at first. it will help you to find a good balance. last but not least : breathe when having a lg fight and focus without thinking of your shaking problem.
never tried those tips with quake ;) trying to help. btw tips are just tips, it's not the core of the practice. they can only be helpful in some case (depend on the person)
Yo, it's not cause of wanking or some shit they tell you. I never got nervous in a fight but i shaked lg left and right for like ages. For me it has to do with mouse sensitivity being totally fucked up in ql, maybe you have same problem. My mouse reacted so strange under raw input that i had to compensate for it by moving it like a maniac on steroids. I solve it by switching to direct input. Now when i move my crosshair it goes where i intended to not on some random position. Sounds strange idd but it's a fact. Try changing in_mouse
For trolls - I GOT DEMOS TO PROVE IT :D
Tried q3cpma and i aim like god himself there (fluid and consistent).
QL has some weird lagged solution for sensitivity that i dont fully understand yet. I guess code for raw input is fucked up or something.
Also had to change account since for some reason i cant switch in_mouse to 1 on my original account.
K1llsen and alfaomega are two good examples of how to aim good while looking like a retard and it's cause of that. They have to compensate on these small mouse movements cause mouse isnt listening to them.
I know this for a fact since it's same feeling like in battlefield 2 where you have sensitivity influenced by ping/lag. In cod4 for example i never had that problem.
Cheers.
p.s. You can easly test this by playing offline/online in all of the games mentioned.
p.s.2 i see now you say you feel nervous with shaft. Means you are not confident. Drink water and dont forget do breathe while you fight (lol).
I have tried everything to get a consistent feeling without result, after seeing your post i tried in_mouse 1 again and it worked like magic. It feels abit smoothed but its the same feeling every game, which is what matters.
I get the same way. I get it really bad on RG and LG. Especially in duel when it's a tight game or when I'm last alive in a CA match. It's mainly all nerves and it gets better the longer I play, but man, if you watch me i shake like crazy. It REALLY fucks up my movement also. I've even had specs comment that I shake really bad sometimes. I'm even stoned about 90% of the time I play.
That's one of the reason I would say you are REALLY nervous. Being stoned + giving too much importance to a game = heartrate over 9k. Just play FFAs or Instagib when in that condition.
p.s. I remember me playing in Q3 on ZTN vs high skilled oldschooller while stoned. I was so focused to not give away stupid frags and play very careful that I didn't even notice how the game ended with 1-0 score with him winning :D
i switched from DA (bigger heavier) to the abbysus, i have shaky aim in general, but lg was infinitely better with the DA. (im guessing its partly down too DAs flawless sensor and its size/weight)
i suggest using support for your elbow as well, might as well pop it on the table and place your monitor at an angle (i am trying this as of late, its all old russian tactic, but habbits are hard to break, but will be worth it in the long run,..)
oke, then only thing i can suggest then is testing other mice of different shape size and weight (ofc if you can be arsed to do so), im a nervous player and like i said, the heavier/bigger DeathAdder was much better for my lg.
I think there is one thing you may not have considered. Do you generally aim with your fingers, wrist, or arm? I'm guessing you use a highish sens and aim mainly with your fingers. While aiming with your fingers can be more reactionary, it is really easy to make minor mistakes that mess with your tracking. You have to play a lot to be any good with the style (killsen).
Try to force yourself to use your whole arm or at least your wrist when moving your mouse.
Also, contrary to what others have said, wank it more imo. It's good for relaxation.
Good post! Do you know any other pros that use this style? Is it generally accepted that there are three main ways of holding the mouse; fingers, wrist, arm?
You're right I use 4.75 sens, 0.08 accel on 450dpi abyssus.. 6/11 windows, 1000hz, yaw pitch 0.018.
It's not that high but I really like it cause my movement is pretty ok with this setting.
Also my rockets and plasma are good I would say. I only need my wrist to make movements but my hand is on the table up to my elbow. Good post, have a [+].
Maybe you are right. I personally just started to appreciate full power of strafe aiming. But i believe that using LG only this way really limits its combat efficiency.
And as a low sens player I don't have any problems with aiming with mouse during LG fight. Or so I think. :)
imo running away spaming rockets/plasma is better choice...
you would need to hit much higher % to actually pull such shit off...
lets say ur 200 stack, and ur enemy 300... he hits 20% lg, meaning he deals 35 dmg per second... you hit 30% lg, thats 42 dmg per second... now some more math
I've never had any complaints about warping while using timenudge. Also i've played a fair share of people that warp for no good reason with or without timenudge.
Unless you have any substantial claim other than lousily a misleadingly coined colwn clan name please don't use warping as an argument to call it a cheat :D
I made some easy test. Asking someone (the guy had ping 50) to set TN to -20 and run in front of me.
He was totaly smooth with TN 0 and a bit warpy with TN-20, but the warp is very small. It's not like it will make you warp like how you guys call people warpers, its just very small. It.s not like he is teleporting to a position to another but mire like very very small interpolations missing. thus it's clearly noticable if you ask someone to walk from left to right in a straight line with TN 0 and then TN -20.
I'm surprised to see that such big nerds like you guys don't know about this, while some random noobs already figured it out.
i can also tell that TN helps a lot with ping > 80.
Someone with a macro keyboard should record a sequence of dodges of different sizes. Then let a buddy record with fraps on different timenudges and different pings. Then put it on youtube so these types of arguments can be settled once and for all.
oh, familiar problem, try to fix your hand on a table and squezze your mouse more hardly by the hand. train clear moves of your hand( on XY)
But during the match, you must understand that in different moments you must regulate power of mouse squezzing, position of your hand and many more "physic apects". For example... as for me iam relax my hand when just moving on map, but if iam shooting with opponent my hand is strain, cause shotting demand fast and clear hand moves.
P.S. sorry for my english, i'll be glad if someone fix my text )
