Everyone who knows me from the xbox360 could confirm, that i always saw Halo as the worst game ever, the aimassist is just ridiculously high and makes the game really easy to hit.
The only game i prefered on xbox360 was the bonus game on the QUake 4 Special Edition which was Quake 2.
DIdnt have any aimassist what so ever and really seperated skill from preadjusted aiming.
Gamepads do have a potential of skill. I got some strafe demos in Quake 3 done with xbox 360 controller, for anyone who is still sceptical :)
i think quake arena on xbox arcade is the worst gameplay ever lol.
i use to play a lot of quake 4 xbox 360.its not pc of course but it was prety decent,i played it a lot.
controller on pc is not only better, its another world.total diferent feeling and aiming.
Out of curiosity I took the wireless controller of my xbox360 and gave it a try. The controller is very old, as it came with the first edition of the 360.
I tried multiple times to make small circles, but the pad would not register them properly, even after I played with the dead zone and sensitivity settings for a while.
Does the thumbstick mechanic wear out? Are the new gamepad much better than the old ones?
PS. I noticed that if I jump (left trigger) I cannot fire (right trigger). Is this a known problem?

check #18 (genius still doesn't get how the site works), and also try using a wired controller or an adapter for the wireless one you already have. Otherwise you'll get massive input lag.
normaly even the oldest pad should do the work:)
but its better if u get a new one and wired specialy.
the probleme u got is i think with joykey or a program like that.
u should download total game controler for aiming and xpadder for buttons.probleme will be solved:)
hey there Gen. Brings me back to the old times when you, un1k me and Nad3r used to play q4 against pc players.
Good old freakin times, i miss them :(
I think you should mention those programs we used.
For example TotalControl, with which you can set up the dead angle of the joypads prefectly. You can also adjust the X/Y movement of each Joypad.
Greets se1z
I tested the stick accel stuff yonks ago and I thought they were quite interesting and could be quite playable with some fine tuning but I honestly didn't want to use the pad because of the lack of buttons.
movement looks sick, very botlike, not suggesting it's abot tho.
there was a youtube video about some xbox controller player 1on1ing here on esr a while ago and the whole thread turned into a shitstorm. movement looked similar to this tho.
