Thanks but it says unknown command +zoom1 but when i'm holding a weapon that uses +zoom2 such as rail nothing shows up on console and nothing changes in game.

no idea tbh. you did put all this in a .cfg file which you execute at start via an autoexec, right?

Sorry not quite sure what you mean. All the binds you told me to add is in the one config and i double checked the binds and everything was correct. Also in prac mode i would type autoexec yoyoman.cfg and restarted qlprism a couple of times to make sure everything was correctly loaded.

you shouldn't type autoexec whatever in console, that does not make much sense. from what you've wrote it looks like you never set the aliases as the game can't find them, that's usually because someone forgot to add them to a .cfg to execute at start.

you can check if the game recognizes your aliases by typing +z and press TAB in console and it should try to autocomplete and find +zoom, +zoom1 and +zoom2 (if it only gives you +zoom something went wrong).

in /baseq3/ there should be atleast two different .cfg files, an autoexec.cfg containing the line "exec yoyoman.cfg" without quotes and your yoyoman.cfg which has to include this somewhere in there:

sorry I'm confusing myself, i meant i executed the config typing /exec yoyoman.cfg and looking inside my baseq3 folder i couldn't find my autoexec.cfg. Also i don't necessarily have to use zoomsens if that makes it easier for you to figure this out, i just want a way where if i use pg,lg,mg i can use sensitivity 1.88888 and m_pitch 0.36 only when holding mouse2 but when i let go it returns to the orignal sens and m_pitch. If i do it this way i can just keep the zoomfov and zoomsens the same so i think i would prefer this method if possible.

create an autoexec.cfg? like i said, i can't see what's going on on your side but from what you are saying the game can not find the aliases you want to use ("unknown command"), in other words: you did not set them in a way the game recognizes, most probably because you do not use an autoexec.cfg.

Thankyou :D, you solved my problem. Also if possible could you modify it so instead of using zoomsens i use sensitivity to lower the sens like my post just above. If it's too hard for you then don't bother. Anyway thanks again.

i can do that, but then you won't be able to test out a new sens on the fly without changing your aliases. i don't think you want that :p also had the settings the wrong way around...

wouldn't that change m_pitch whenever he fires pg, afaik he wants the change only when zoomed in?

Thanks, this one works better because i can hold zoom and switch weapons without anything stuffing up. I also added your commands to weaponconfig cvar for rl and mg so that it works when your respawn in duel or ca because if i don't the zoomfov and zoomsens is set from the wep i died with.

Also i doubt anyone would be interested but i found my old script which let you use no accel/higher m_pitch for pg/mg/lg and accel/lower m_pitch for any other weapon and also if i zoomed with pg/mg/lg the zoomfov would be 90 and zoomsens .48 and for any other weapon zoomfov 55 and zoomsens 1. You can also hold zoom and switch weps without it stuffing up. -

Also is it possible to do what you did with your script but instead of using zoomsensitivity, use sensitivity instead? Because my fov is 90 and sensitivity is 3.1111 and i'm only using zoomsens to lower it to sensitivity 1.8888 with 90 fov when i use lg/pg/mg but i don't know how to calculate that using zoomsens so i just measured with a ruler. If i used sensitivity instead of zoomsens it would be more accurate but if you don't know how then i'll just give up and use zoomsens instead.

You can't go wrong with zoomsens, it's just a multiplier for the scaled sensitivity.

Since your fov = your zoomfov then QL will calculate a sensitivity of 3.1111 (yeah it's the same :p). If you want to get a sens of 1.8888 instead, just divide:
1.8888 / 3.1111 = 0,60711645398733566905596091414612

0.607 zoomsens is probably a good approximation of what you're looking for!

Doing the same thing with sensitivity changes while zooming won't even be easier. If you want a hint then I'll suggest to pack some values in these aliases:
alias ua_Pitch_0 "m_pitch -0.022" //Default when unzoomed. Also used for zoomed ANYOTHERWEAPON as you can see in the bind command when I put alias ua_ZoomP ua_Pitch_0

I tried that zoomsens at 90zoomfov and compared it with 1.8888 sensitivity at 90fov and it feels different. If you don't believe me try it for yourself measuring by a ruler with no accel.
