this is great news for the QL community, they finally get what they're clamoring for. with better luck 'id' will shut down QuakeLive entirely, and no one will have the ability to make the terrible choice of playing it.

Lack of success = failure? I'd consider not reaching it's full potential a failure, but that's me having a subjective opinion. Direct comparison to QL's contemporaries and how well they are doing shows that QL didn't fail, but could have done much better. I'd think that's the general consensus among the vocal userbase.
I'd really love to see what people who don't care about the meta bullshit think about QL (like the SC2 crowd not long ago that seemed generally very positive about QL).

it's not whine, it's the truth. I never cared for new maps anyway and they never listen to what we want, at least not here. They might listen to some requests from the ql forums, but we all know they are full of donks.
This is good example of how you, bad ungrateful community, is the reason of ql's failure. If id software shuts down servers and releases new maps, then you must appreciate new content (even if there are no players on premium servers, you can still adore the architecture in pratice mode, and even have some fun with bots) and love the simplification and streamlining of game browser which cuts down the unnecessary choice and cluttering with servers from irrelevant locations.
And what you do instead? Just whine and whine, and then wonder why QL isn't a success.

Sponge: Argentina is back online. It appears the community member hosting in Chile has decided to no longer offer their services, so we do not know when there will be a location in that area again.
It's soooooooo expensive for them to keep a server running. If i remember correctly I paid like 15 dollars a month maybe for a CS 1.6 server or two back in the day. Cheap fucks
I'm still bitter because they introduced gametypes with fairly small audience and decided to limit it with premium.
Now they're introducing new gametypes that no matter how good or bad they are, just won't have the chance to "prove" themselves.
This along with the fact that there are far more important things that the community has been requesting for years makes me bitter even before the update is released.
However, I applaud the fact that the game is still being actively (arguable) developed.
short-term/quick profits over a longer-term approach that would eventually yield many more profits, is very illogical, but thats not the mindset of american companies, with quarterly earnings having to please bosses/shareholders..
We tried for some days as QL was offline in our region, but QL netcode/player reg is sooooo smooth compared to Q3, its hard to go back, very very hard...
Maybe if the little Shits didn't play too much Clan Arena all this time or plays Bullshit games like League of Faggots or Call of Duty so much. No wait we have to blame Id for ruining this game :P seriously fix the TX Servers ffs, I don't care who it was but im blaming the Assholes who refuse to play this game over stupid reasons like "Oh.... This game is hard!, CoD or LoL is so much easier. " and more reasons like Stupid Starcraft Koreans!
