I can't imagine that any competitive player will embrace this game.. there is not even a duel mode, only an endless amount of weird mutators.

looks like a very nice game judging from trailers, but cba doing all these accounts for nothing.. rather gonna wait for final release.

For me it's impossible to find a match, because the game has so many bugs/errors (one just has to open the console to see what I mean). I hope they fix it a bit in the next days, because I liked the old Nexuiz.

Where did you read that I've expected it to run smooth?
It's just only that I've managed to play a total of 8 minutes during the last two days because I either don't get into the waiting-lobby at all or the game dies during loading or actually ingame (my screen went black during that one match I've been able to play untill now).
A beta is there to find bugs and errors and fix them, but if the game won't run at all or only 5% of the time it's not a beta it's an alpha.
Tribes Ascend had crashes and bugs too during closed beta but you at least could find a game and play 20-40 minutes without one of them in the current state of Nexuiz you can't play at all.

This isn't the old Nexuiz, if that's what you're implying. The old Nexuiz is now Xonotic. The new Nexuiz is a commercial game in a new engine with different physics and gameplay. (Commercial Nexuiz seems worse in every way to me so far.)

Couldn't even bind my controls due to the retarded menu : scrollwheel won't do jack, clicking the arrow doesn't do jack ( until you figure out your need to spam both clicks on it ), keyboard doesn't do jack and once you bind something, it goes back to the top of the list, leaving you to spam the arrow like a retard again.

the founder of the project Lee Vermeulen sold the nexuiz name license to the company Illfonic and they did create a completley other game. before darkplace engine, after cryengine3. without asking or telling the other devs or the community, this could be handled better. the old game was downloaded many times so he smelled the money and he fucked the other devs and the community of nexuiz. the community was angry, this is understandable, and founded another free project called xonotic.

i didnt play old nexuiz, so its not my personal drama, but at least its bad manners from this guy. when i read about it i stopped posting news about the new nexuiz on my quake sites, and ofcourse supporting xonotic instead. the controverse is readable on german wiki, but on the english wiki is missing, very strange...

new nexuiz is unsympathic to me. with this backstory i will never touch it.
