IMO everything what u wrote is correct, but... not excactly. You didn't say that it's one of the worst mouse if it comes to built quality.
Razer products are so cheap... please don't give me an examples of how much ur deathadder still etc. I have bought 3 products from razer in my life: two of them were dead after 5 months of using (and ye.. I was using them quiet a lot...).

Basically if you can afford to buy a new one every 5-6 months, then it's one of the best mice ever.

Fact is that there was, is and always will be a lot of razer lovers and haters. Their products are very good at performance etc. but built quality is just... something u have to experience to understand.

My da worked for 5 years flawlessly and it had to endure a lot :P. It's still working except the mousewheele. Tho I'm sadly already on my 2nd abyssus and the diamondback wasn't the healthiest mouse either :(

I don't know what the hell you guys do to these things but all of my Razer mice are still going strong. I get ragey and throw them around from time to time too.

also like the abyssus a lot. To bad it started to jump all over the place on fast movements a few weeks ago. This "bug" happens out of the blue and cant be recreated. Mousepad is clean which was the only advice i could find @ razer forum.

Hope i can get my hands on the bst mouse at some point to check it out. Mb that one will finally become the holy grale =)

ehmm if u have good abyssus then u won loto. Alot get jittering version, noctis changed abyssus sensor to salmosa. And if razer would care they would fix it, but they wont -.-. Comercials like cypher playing with abyssus, oh please cypher, avek played on totaly difrent mouses. Same as strenx from kinzu to mx518. But i can only agree that abyssus has good shape for claw grip users. And fuck razer mouses they need extra good surfice so extra money fuck it

TBH I have no idea, but I heard that the "LoL" is the one that generally has a jitter-free sensor (still there is a chance to get one that jitters...).

I heard that's bullshit, but I can't verify for myself.

It depends more on the firmware I think than anything else. The first batch of them (the original standard edition) were sketchy, and then the LoL and mirror versions came out with the newer firmware. All of the mice produced after that had the better firmware though, so by this point it's probably hard to buy a fucked up one.

I have a standard edition Abyssus on a puretrak talent and it's fine. Anything other than 450dpi/500hz is a little jittery.

So far I bought two and luckily they were flawless.

Buy direct from Razer.

switched back to wmo after using abyssus. had no problems with the sensor, its a good mouse, just the shape was too short for me. I have long ET saladfingers:)

I don't know if you care about my opinion and advices but anyway I'll tell you that the logitech is still the best brand out there. Maybe their products don't look as nice as razer, they don't have that nice logo and font on banners, proper packaging etc. but logitech is just a solid brand with solid gamma of products in their catalogs that are worth to give em a try.

Logitech g400 (non-prediction version) is the way to go, really. If u care about the shit what mouse the best quake aimer uses etc. I can tell you that strenx after quiting from a sponsorship changed his steelseries (kinzu) to logitech (mx518 (wich is the older version of g400)).
Also g9x and g100 are pretty good mice. They are at least worth a try.

I'm saying this because I know that razer doesn't give a shit about their costumers or whatever... money is their priority, beside it, they don't have any other. And I really don't recommand you to get their products.

Believe me or not but av3k, cypher and cooller would tell you the same if they could. :P

Had some red tape covering about 30% of the sensor. It covered the bottom area to stop light escaping out of that fairly large area/angle. If you use a light coloured mousepad, then the LOD is low enough to be playable imo (cypher uses a white razer ironclad pad now that is like a white icemat). I decided that I didn't like the shape though and switched back to WMO anyway.

this was the first abyssus thread i found so i'll post this here.

so i bought an abyssus yesterday (lol edition) - i was going to get a goliathus as well but none of the shops had it here. fortunately, i get no jitters on my qck, EXCEPT when the pointer is in the top right corner of the screen, around the close button when something is in fullscreen. it gets very slow and quite jittery. anyone else had this issue?

also i haven't installed any drivers

turn it 180° or only 90° to see if it still behaves like that.
another thing what could happen is, that the mouse is turned in a problematic angle when you reach there.
maybe this is even the main factor which decides about jitter or no jitter with the abyssus, that it depends how you turn the mosue in your hand.

turned the mousepad all the way around in 4 steps, tried to keep my wrist as straight as i could and moved the mouse to different spots on the pad, it's always the same in that one corner and in that corner only.

so you say, no matter where on the pad you are, it still jitters when the cursor is on the right upper corner of the screen? :S

I really liked the Diamondback 3G, it held for about a year, which was disappointing. After that I had some random mice, then the great Boomslang 2007 Edition, which still sits on my table after 5 years of heavy abuse. I got a second one a while ago for €20 if it fails sometime.
In between I had a small Roccat, which was crap.
Not too easy getting good mice for lefties, still missing the classic Logitech Pilot!

I bought mine around a month and a half ago, so far it is pretty much flawless. qck+ mousepad no jitters whatsoever. its the mirror edition btw (which was latest)

I got the mirror edition with transformers logo :x it's also flawless.

which got me thinking maybe razer could fix the jitter issue with those latest abyssus.

people with mirror editions, please post to confirm!

mirror edition, the jitter only gets visible on desktop when installing windows (lowest res, win pointer precision thing on :D)

my abyssus' jittering is not really bothering me but i think i hit its malfunction speed too much which really started to bother me after 1.5 years. i think its getting old

tried to downclock it to 500hz, feels less accurate but more stable.
