After 3 months the HoQ TDM and CTF 4v4 leagues are officially finished! There's been a bit of a delay checking the final results, but I'm pleased to announce they are as follows:

TDM 4v4

CTF 4v4

Thanks to everyone who took part, the streamers, casters and of course fellow admins

williebobc and

paw, and

Howhard and

nCrazed for building & hosting the new site.

Although the leagues are finished our CA 2v2 and CA 1v1 ladders are still running and open to new teams. If those aren't your cup of tea then leave suggestions for future tournaments in the comments or join us on IRC.

Actually we won the third division but willie gave us a defloss for a game in which our opponent didn't show up 3 consecutive times so yea, congrats on that one....

That was my plan when I started the CTF season, however it gets a bit complicated when you have 3-way ties in which each team beat another. To keep things simple I went with the map difference approach (which was always williebobc's plan for TDM, afaik), similar to how goal difference is used in football.

HoQ would have won CTF division 2 if I'd kept the old method, by the way.

I actually agree with Twister that it should be direct comparison instead of fragdifference. I know it could still be 3-way-tie, but then use fragdifference as last resort. Fragdifference could be alot diffrent for teams with surtain homemaps, and should mercylimit be in rules if fragdifference apply? :-) Doesnt change anything in our division tho, so congratz to xt :-)

I don't think sport leagues use individual games before goal differences. Might be wrong though, if its a group stage phase then yes, but actual leagues where teams play each other several times every season then I think no. To lazy to look it up though :D

Yeah big leagues dont use that. But what I was thinking of are groupstages of the champions league, where all teams play 6 games. In this league, each team plays 9 games, which is not a lot, compared to the big football leagues, where up to 38 games are played. And here is the rule of the champions league.

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group
matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (indescending order):
a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among theteams in question;

b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question; (or in other words, direct comparison)

c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among theteams in question;

... and so on up to point h)

i dont think so. but since the skill difference is so big, it would not make much sense. or maybe with mercy limit ok. but without, most of the games would just be huge slaughter.
but I think you could find 20 good enough players for a "big" 1on1 league. For sure the best would always win against the "not so good" but most of the games would at least be interesting and to a certain point close.

so if you lost instead of winning 24-3 = 21
if gc won instead of losing 21 + 3 = 24

The game in question was GO vs GC, for which GO were given a default win. If that was reversed then HoQ would stay on 24 points while GC gained 3.

For next season, admins should be more strict on players allowed to join a teams roster after divisions have been made. If that player was in the roster meant the team would have been placed in a different division, that player should not be allowed to join.

Allowing Nargle, who recently represented the UK in JeeSports Nations Cup, to join a division 4 team effectively ruined division 4.

There is no way SWAT would have been placed in division 4 of Nargle was already on the roster when divisions where made. Yet he could join 1 week into play, with admin approval.

I realize admins might not care much about division 4, but this is where new teams start. For them to face teams, where a single player could probably beat them 1v4, is not great encouragement for them to continue their efforts to improve. This is damaging for the whole ctf scene.

I convinced them to add me so I could play with my friends in SWAT. But I see that was a mistake and I'm very sorry, it was my fault not the admins. In my defense, I played like a div4 player in the nations cup :)

Thanks to the tournament organization for the HoQ leagues. And in these harsh economic times it's pretty good to get a silver cup to melt for raw currency, but gold would be better. Next season hopefully!

It was obvious we've finished third after getting smashed by the official third place finisher. What a surprise to win by map difference :)

But OTOH, without Bicho and the cheater, bS aren't that strong and we deserve div 3 more!

PS. Please hint us when the next season is coming. July/August?

Bebek "the cheater" was banned for using QLranks, wich add some invalid commands to your cfg, he was reported by someone like you and got banned. Time will tell.
Please upload any single demo where bebek could have use any cheat, or ask me for any demo and I will ask him to upload it. He has been playing since Q3 demo with me, and he always played better than me.

bS should have play in div3 tho.

Unless we get banned for using QLRanks, as all of us do it daily, hell - I even use their script (which has added 2 cvars to my config!) in warmup of almost every pickup game I play. I'm scared even more :(

PS. I didn't even name the dude in my post and that was for a reason. Don't take matters publicly when it's not needed.

PPS. You didn't play for them in the matches we've played, so I quietly assumed loss of the better players will push your team lower. If you're now active and playing for them, I may change my mind!

Since the last HoQ match our team has changed. Bicho and derisas has left and rebirth D&M, in the other hand we've hired two dudes from the tFc and two other players from the Q3 oldschool has also entered in bS.
We don't need Bebek and/or bicho to be competitive and, most probably, catch up the playoffs in Clanbase div2. I'll ask for pcw at 21:00 because tbh since the Diablo3 release we didn't play too much.

As lokario said, if anyone have any doubt about the player I challange them to request any demo and check if he's got skills and aim or just is using cheats. It's easy :) Any other accusation will be treated as a whine of a loser because not anyone of you have proofs xD

In this case, thanking admins, players and the few fans left in Quake I see as the minimum gesture of politeness for all time spent to make this league from all povs. Before (but also during), I played quake I've played a lot of sports and you always 'Wish good luck' before the game, and you say 'Thanks for a good game' after, no matter if you lost or won. You might not always be happy with your own results or performance, but you should always remember that we are humans and even if I was pissed at times for whatever reason, I still put on a smile and say 'Good Game' to the opponents who have treated me according to the rules..

The worst I know from online playing (in this context) is when you say 'GG' out of respect to your opponent (even if you lost) and simply want to say 'thanks' for the game and you get a reply -> 'it was not gg, fu' :)
