tornado can be fun. more fun to play and also to commentate as hidden fortress. when i casted the TDM-DH-Final on hidden fortress my face almost fell asleep.

why do u want the same map pool all the time?

I am happy with a mix of maps from CB and CL, it freshens up the games somewhat.

Very infavour of fixed maps that the CL has re-introduced to quake.. it was like this back in Barrysworld & Jolt and its so much more fun than playing each team on their home map week in week out.

I personally stopped watching CL cause retribution RA rush bored my ass off :s

I've decided not to join any more dm6 and dm7 tournaments or leagues, enough is enough.

Thats pretty much what i felt about it, that and its nice to play teams on random maps rather than the "lets all play our home map" every week.

Shouldn't have listened to the whiners doz3r. kuh3liga was always about mixing it up with maps and introducing new ones. If we did everything the loudmouths wanted we would have no maps in play and Quake would be dead already.

Anyway should be fun to watch, keep me posted on matches to stream.

or remove stonekeep and put in finnegans. stonekeep is too large for 4v4.

Remove Stonekeep atleast, that map was played like 1 year ago in few pickup games then people where bored and never see it again.

The reason Finnegan's was not included was:

I wanted a compelling maplist which both includes people's favourites in PCWs, pickups and Cup Map choices.

Troubled Waters, Ironworks, Japanese Castles, Shining Forces and Spider Crossings
^ those maps have a share a certain popularity and all originated either from 3wave (wcp1, w5, wcp8), original q3 (ctf2) or have been in QL since the beginning and have managed to become part of the clan scene to the core (Ironworks).

The reason for removing Siberia and Courtyard, as they have had a dwindling in popularity, and could be replaced by something new without many people being upset (considering nobody requested their addition, seems a lot of people agree, or at least don't see it as a problem).

Having a map-pool with 7 maps seems to be more exciting, so I wanted to have a look for alternatives to regular maps. The only suitable options were: Bloodlust, Camper Crossings, Double Impact, Fallout Bunker, Industrial Accident, Stonekeep, Skyward and Reflux are the only options (unless you want to plap with Runes on OVERLORD))) . I took a look at famous wars on those maps, as well as playability, how dynamic it the map can be from the point of view of an attacker, powerup items for defenders, spectator value and potential public outrage if map was included.

Bloodlust - overly defensive, it never enjoyed any success here, and the only games played on it are iCTF publics. Big no.

Camper Crossings - dynamic map with 3 potential attack routes, quad for power plays, and a lot of potential for great railplay, air rockets, precision shafting and quad runs.

Double Impact - limited routes, clusterfuck in the mid and has teleports which make this map not very suitable for clan compeition. Or even, pickups (imagine japanese castles with no garden, and the teleports to the dojo activated during CTF) big nej.

Finnegan's - it's a defense orientated map (which is bad for spectator value, but good for higher competitive clan games), and what puts me off it, is I remember playing a few pickups when it was released, and there was a shitload of fighting due to only 2 routes to enemy base, so the attackers come to you, as a defender with lowered health (if it all), and after the initial release it never enjoyed much picks.

Fallout Bunker - Xd plz. It's too small for kuh3liga 4v4, but it's ok for Warsaw #1 iCTF public servers though)))

Industrial Accident - this is a good map, quite popular in cpma (just like spider crossings and camper crossings), a lot of potential for people fighting for red in the middle, for attackers to gank enemy mega, and for defenders, there are 3 different places where the enemy could come from, so it could be very interesting. The only reason I didn't include it was due to the potential rail-rapes in the open mid area, and the fact quad is located in a place where you rocketjump, which is kinda annoying and could be a source for rage in clan play, especially with those pesky snipers c:

Skyward - Great for Attack & Defend/ CTFs, as long as railgun is removed. As for competitive 4v4 ctf? hell no

Stonekeep - a contraversial map from the beginning, when it was included in the Dreamhack CTF just 2 weeks after it was released. It's definitely playable from the standpoint of attackers, defenders, powerups, quadruns, and spectator value is great since I can still recall the DH2009 CTF final there, so the CTF players in div1 can pull and MVP rip shit up on that map. The only negativity is the size of the mid area, but you can avoid being railed to death, due to the scenery providing good cover.

Reflux - this map is definitely the best out of the brand new QL exclusive maps, but the potential 2 attack routes is BS, and so is the little acid pipe which is supposed to be the alternative route (you die 4 times by being there, and only with battlesuit can you use it as an attack route). That concept just made me rage since what kind of moron would attack through there when the BS dmg ticker would announce you being there, and what kind of moron would NOT spam the shit out of this pipe if you heard enemy attacker coming? Battlesuit or no battlesuit, direct nades (it's like 450 units wide, any nade is a direct nade) fuck you up. So yea, 2 attack routes = zzz

After careful deliberation and weighing up the potential maps, their pros and cons, and what could be removed and why, I have drafted up this particular 7 map maplist, and figured the only potential casue for controversy would have been Stonekeep since wcp14 is such a great map.

And please treat this maplist as a potential maplist, since I am not married to every map, and things could be changed. However, considering the vetting process and the reasons for including each particular map in the maplist, I would like to keep all of them.
