I own a number of WMOs (1.1a's and 1.1s) and I also have a number of Intellimouse 3.0's (all are the new dark grey version) and I feel there is a disparity between the LOD on both mice.
I've never come across others bringing up this issue so I wanted to raise it to make sure I don't just have a batch of dud WMO's.
I feel like the LOD on all of my Intellimouse 3.0s is very low (comparable to the MX500 series of optical mice) and it's a LOD that i'm very comfortable with because when I make small fast swipes of my mouse (constantly picking it up and placing it down) the sensor won't re-position where i'm currently aiming. I'm not sure of distances but i'd say the LOD has to be around 1-2mm for this feeling.
When I use any of my WMO's however I feel like the LOD is quite high (not as high as the Abyssus but still quite high). It's at a distance where the mouse will sometimes re-position my crosshair slightly when i'm making the same small fast swipes. Again I haven't measured distances but I'd say it would have to be greater than 2mm to cause this feeling.
Has anyone else ever come across this issue and/or know of ways to resolve it? (lower the LOD of the WMO is what i'm aiming for)
A few things to take into consideration are the difference in mouse feet (both stock), I think the WMO's are all plastic feet and the 3.0's are teflon (not sure eithers thickness). Another thing to note is that this LOD disparity has been consistent across a number of surfaces (QCK, Talent, Goliathus speed & control, desk)
As far as I know these mice both use the STMicroelectronics OS MLT 04 sensor so I would've thought the LOD's would be pretty similar.
Lastly, for anyone else whose come across this issue , do you know if the IMO1.1 has a LOD closer to the 3.0 or the WMO?
Bit of a long winded post but this disparity has been annoying me for a while because I'd prefer to use the WMO but I just can't put up with my crosshair shifting off my target just because I put the mouse down on a slightly different angle.
