yes i play. i beat puppey with chen, means im better chen than puppey. i also used to play inhouse, but after bot died i didnt bother getting a new one. pub dota ftw, so rewarding
have watched some, the ingame viewer is awesome. tho i suck too much to really be able to enjoy a stream. in fights, i don't get whats going on, and i dont know half the items.
It'll take a few days, but everything will clear up. The in-game viewer is nothing short of amazing, and you can even use the "audio channel" option while watching any international game to select which caster you want to listen to.
some of the game mechanics are not that obvious to me tho.
off the top of my head:
if i have a full bottle and want to pick up a rune, how to i mechanically go about doing that.
is it explicitely detailed in every ability description whether an ability dodes physical or magical damage( checked, and it does)?
on the same note: what is pure damage? is the damage-number not effected by armor and magic resist?
does bkb work against all abilities or only against magic damage?
If you have a bottle in your inventory, touching any rune will automatically pick it up. If your bottle had any charges missing from it, it will be fully refilled after using the rune. The refilling of a bottle via runes is the main playstyle of a mid lane, as they can use the runes to refill bottle so they don't need to go back to base as often. You can also bring your bottle back to base with a courier to refill it.
As far as I know, tooltips are completely accurate.
Pure damage is not reduced by magic resist, or armor, and won't trigger blocks. Here is a list of all damage types.
Here is breakdown of magic immunity, for BKB. BKB will protect you from the majority of skills, but a few will still go through, like Beastmaster's roar, or Vengeful Spirit's swap. BKB will also prevent positive effects.
I have the beta but I'm sticking to War3 DotA. There are many things I dislike about Dota 2's visual design and most of the unit sounds are beyond terrible.
