isnt there a pickup channel for ctf already

whats your usp in relation to #playquake?

or didn't you get the news that there's a "new" (1 year old) ctf pickup chan?

my usp? srry dont understand what you mean. i know there is #playquake but im not 100% ok with the admining that is done there so i pretty simple try to do it good and better

Can't be worse, #playquake is a horrible bog of narcissistic freaks (mostly, some cool dudes like Raist excluded).

There was #qlpickup.eu but they created #playquake and somehow managed to win players over (which I never understood). Now you say they're bad so you create #goodpickup. "Not 100% ok with the admining"? They ban too much or too little?

So: what's your plan to get all of #playquake players over to your channel?

We (admins of qlpickup.eu and holysh1t team members) were faced with a split of the CTF community. It was either split the community or all move to #playquake, because they didn't want to give up their new site and channel (I still remember all the promises they made to the community, teehee). So we did what we thought was best, we closed our bot down and urged everyone to join the other channel.

#qlpickup.eu is still available and still has 50 people idle.

well we still think about doing something different like makin some draft cups regularly, but like i wrote, its just some days old and we first try to gather some ppl. If you got some ideas about what to change, tell me

You should make a pickup channel for 1on1 on thunderstruck instead. There's already a ctfpickup channel (#playquake). If you dislike it, go play @ #tdmpickup. If you don't like tdm, then make a 1on1 thunderstruck pickup channel.

I think you need to make it.

I dont play ctf myself, but the way I see it as an outsider. Would it not be smarter to apply for the admin job in the current ctf channel instead of splitting the community up?

That way noone will miss what is going on either.

If you are not happy with a channel becasue some admins make stupid decisions and dont care about when some ppl ruin pickups, do you really think apply as an admin there is an option? HELL NO.
And i dont know why ppl think it will spilt the community? In the current pickup channel ppl get hated always, only because ppl cant take one defeat in a game, thats not the kind of climate i want in my chan. It's always nothing but noob here noob there only because ppl think their skills allows them to look down on ppl with lower skills. thats just crap and annoying.
It is just another option for ppl who dont like to get hated only because some higher skilled players think they can insult everybody because nobodys cares.
