What does this mean? Does it save you from any of the Hi-Rez hassles, or is it just another way of downloading the Hi-Rez client?

there is still the launcher but I "think" that it will do updates through the steam client. think is in quotes because it just came out today and obviously there is no new patch to make sure

Ah ok, thanks. I'm not a fan of Steam, and normally I get annoyed by the "omg i'll play this if it's on steam" crowd, but the whole Hi-Rez system is a piece of shit for me. Reminds me of my experience with Steam in like 2004, back when it was terrible and I was on dial-up internet and they made me install it to play HL2 :((

yeah. I understand getting annoyed with the crowd. I actually don't like steam itself but there's no denying the advantages of having your game on the platform, and the convenience for the user end having all your games easily managed.

Indeed the hi-rez piece of shit is a piece of shit, hopefully the move onto steam will eventually eliminate it all!
