this is becouse of mouse dpi?

Sens didn't change but it feels different for two reasons

a: the engine is able to translate more details from the mouse movements to the renderer
b: you see more on the sides than you used to, so it *feels* like the sens is faster on that axis.

Sens didn't change, x and y are still 1:1 ( or whatever fucked up ratio you set with m_yaw and m_pitch ).
Just get used to it.

Or go back to the good ol' r_mode 9.

And lose a free +15 fov bump and more details.

We're talking about ql, not q3. you're losing free peripheral vision for the same fov value.

I know. I'm still not losing anything; if I want bigger fov, the I'm setting up a bigger fov (I know it's not exactly equal to the free peripherial vision), even for just a specific weapon or on a seperate bind. Widescreen QL is just weird for me.

So would be 4/3 screen anything if you'd been using 16/19 for years.

on a related sidenote:
i've been struggling with screen tearing for a while now (crappy 60hz lcd, cl_displayrefresh 60, 4:3), and i've done several tests to find a correlation between tearing and resolution.

i've increased the resolution from in_mode 9 to 17 (1280x1028 i think), which is the max res of my monitor, and it seemed to me the tearing was way more noticeable (could see "white bands" moving vertically on the walls).

I've done a few researches on esreality but nothing valuable came up.
Could anyone please enlighten me on this subject?
Is there a correlation between tearing and resolution?
Is it perhaps the mouse hz? I've tried increasing my wmo from 500hz to 1000k but it only got worse.

I had XP too and a CRT, it seems to be unplayable after a while ... maybe a hardware defect

I wish i could stand r_mode 9 but that only works on a CRT imo. Everything under r_mode 12 looks zzzz on a lcd :P

thisstands correct because LCD have pixels and CRT doesnt which mneans the image still looks sharp on a CRT even with a low res because the lines looks way more straight.
