I applaud ID for banning people as much as they do. I assume they cheat like most of this community. IMO Ban them all.

although ID will never go as far as to suspend ALL the quitting team stacking alt accounts....because then there would be nobody left in the game unfortunately.

Team stackers are people who:

A. Join a match as the extra man which is a blatent stack.
B. Switches teams when someone rage quits INSTEAD OF SPEC"N!...again joining that team as the extra man.
C. Teams up with buddies and F2's shuffles or doesn't f2 but doesn't f1 either and F3s Hoping a match starts before a shuffle.
D. OR I truly believe people have a way of hacking the shuffle. When i notice the most notorious guys on a server......sometimes shuffle doesn't even shuffle anything even when passing...keeping the teams blatently stacked. it may just be a cooncidence but it is still curious.

I think the real reason ID does not want to do this. is cause almost everybody is fake in this game and they know it... they would have to ban most of the playerbase and there might not be enough left.

first online videogame you have ever played, don't you. There's pub stomping, cheating and "fake nicks" in every single one.

Those can't be completely stopped and id did all they could do:
- pubstomping: matchmaking/tiers (can't join lower skilled servers)
- cheating: an anticheat was implemented on the latest patch
- faking: creating accounts. Can't do more than that, like tying accounts to CC, since it's a browser-based f2p game. Also one per PC and similar solutions are probably illegal (have to check IPs for that)

I play bf3, css, LoL, WoW

the main diff in quake is that cheating is acceptable and condoned, and in those other communities its frowned against.

bf3 and css have autobalances which all fps have except quake. Even tf2. shit even cod has an autoblance. kind of embarrassing and shameful that quake doesn't.....not even at least to keep even numbered teams!!

and in games like LoL and WoW and Sc2, you get suspended or banned for quitting too many games or slumming on newbs..... same goes for cal leagues.

QL does have autobalance and it's getting improved as we speak (check official forums). Probably it's even on today's patch.

Difference with those games is other players can't join that same match to fill the spot in, hence getting suspended. And in those you don't get banned for slumming, because you simply can't (MM and not included as a ban reason)

they listed that in the last update.....we shall see.

and of course in all fps games you can join and "fill" the spot in. at least in css pubs and bf3 which i play. but when team numbers get lopsided. like say 15 vs 10. they will autobalance to make it like 12vs13 to make it more even as an exmaple in bf3.

alhtough bf2 is still and will always be the best. because in bf2 we were actually able to play with FF on...and no issues. They had mods to ban team killers...team vehicle killers...base rapers....team vehicle stealers......and they had an autoblance based on SCORES. ya i been gaming since the beginning of gaming dude. I'm a vet.

LoL is a F2p game btw. and they do alot fo stop "smurfs" which is what they call slum lords, with out even using cc's. I got a 24 hour suspension in the first week for quitting 3 matches......true story.

You technically could tie accounts but it's not good in this business model. That's why other games don't do it.
Feel free to name one, so you simply can't use the same CC with other accounts and that in which it's almost impossible to create more than one account.

In LoL smurfing is miles worse than in QL (it's quite handy) yet not a single person is getting banned for that (plat elo+doing tribunal since it was released cause it gives lots of ip). Actually in LoL you only get banned for being very, very toxic (warnings + 3 suspensions) or straight up cheating or abusing completely game breaking bugs (which are very rare).
