Well I'm serious. The game is still there, even with updated clients and new maps. But I guess the problem is that no one really wants to invest anything, be it time or money to get it started again. It's easier to play Quake Live which offers a complete package, but they wont admit it ofc.

Why exactly do you think CPM pickups are dead?

CPM was never big and potential players are scared off because
1) the game is a pain to install and to configure (and you still need pak0.pk3)
2) the elitist attitude that some/many CPM players show on forums and other games isn't really inviting either
3) the game is not as much fun to everyone as promode players think it is (e.g. insta weapon switch :X)

I always felt bad about people talking about cpm as if it were a cancer or some shit, cpm has the best movies out there with less activity than any other game in the world, it has the most shocking frags and the best movement i've ever tried. If ql is bigger is because you own the competition and it's mainstream (go youtube and look for ql VOD's and then look for cpm VOD's) but both games have deep gameplay, from an outsider both games look the same so i can't trust your arguments about why cpm is not big, definitely it deserved more than what it got.

If i won the lottery and i decided to make monthly cups in cpm with 3,000 euro prizes cpm would have a larger competitive player database INSTANTLY, just look at strenx and shootmania.

Well I played lots of CPM CA, if that counts. Never really liked duel because of the short weapon switch delay and I know that for many others it's the same. I think it's a bit arrogant to state that people only dislike CPM because they don't know how to play it. (see 2) again).

Dunno what your porblem is with cpm-players being elitist. They only defend their beloved game against the QL/VQ3 haters out there. Same happens if CPM player says something bad about QL. I have played CPM duel actively for a short time and never encountered any assholes there, everyone whom I've met tried to help me with whatever problem I had. One guy even tought me the baiscs of CPM duel for several hours on different maps. Guys like Gaiia, Lugia and Nzr0 are very nice people if you don't start insulting them after they've beaten you in a duel (basicly if you don't act like 90% of QL duelers) they might give you some tipps on how to improve your game.

Erm we actually had a clan/community called Newbs Anonymous where they had a site with alot of info on installing and gameplay stuff + irc channel with people who would teach people movement etc.

shit usually you have to earn the right to play with good players on the good courts..or top parks in real life or they won't even give you the time of day. newbs have the newby courts or parks to play on and normally wouldn't even think of embarrasing themesvels like that.

did ya know 40 bucks will get you your own q3 cpma server for a year(about 80 bucks for a 10 person server). free if you run it off your home connection(plz don't do it unless youre on fiber ;p)
if just a few pro users resisted and started running their own servers we could easily bring back the q3 scene

besides the easy to use browser....We also have a skill match system and stats. which is the only reason many, including myself, are playing in the first place.

oh and the gameplay is less cheap and cheezy as well. which even Cooller says is better.
