MX300 @ 500 Hz, clearly.


WMO has noticeable negative acceleration between the max. perfect control and the malfunction rate (1,55 - 2 m/s). It's an awesome mouse nonetheless.

G1 is quite stable regarding this matter. It has 12 bit data path (S2020 sensor, like in MX510), but the only stable polling rate value is 250 Hz.

Because the perfect control goes from 1 m/s up to 1,55 m/s, which is a big increase. This is all due to the 8 bit data path.

BTW you should do the same with MX300 (it also has 8 bit data path, and the perfect control will go up to the awesome value of 4,91 m/s - it's REALLY a different mouse like that).

500hz wmo = sexy. 125hz wmo = better than regular mice but not sexy

didn't know they moved to 16 bits :)

what the interwebz said back in the day was that on 16 bits data path it didn't make a difference, besides lowering ms response (which is marginal).

On 8 bits though 500hz does improve performance, particularly on the wmo's sensor (1.1), even thought it still is 8 and not 16. Not only perfect control improves an awful lot, but also it feels sexy.

And I would remove the abyssus from that list. Lots of people having issues with it, and those who praise it come back in a couple of months just to complain it started jittering lol.

what is strange to me is how you can gain in ms response (=decrease communication delay) by means of that: a bigger data path only means more precise pointing/speed/accel precision, or am I missing sthg?
I mean, if you increase polling frequency, your mouse signal surely gains in terms of granularity and, thus, that's the straightest way to decrease comm delay.

The advantage for the high sens player doesn't come from the higher malfunction speed but from the more frequent updates of the mouse. It makes the feel of the game smoother - you don't want to feel like skipping 10-20 pixels at a time.

Sadly setting it at 500hz on win7 is a pain in the ass, was really easy in xp...

How is setting it up in win7 different than xp? I haven't done it the one time I tried win7.

You need to use "test mode" and used unsigned drivers for it to work, I've seen it screw up/fail more in Win7 than XP since it was very easy to do in XP.

So, there's no difference between 125 hz and 500 hz WMO apart from negative acceleration between perfect control speed and malfunction speed, and 5 ms delay in reaction speed?
