I'm not against globalization, as for it becoming samey, I think so, but I also think its more complicated than that.

For example, The UK has changed a lot in the past 100 years. The UK is now like a preview for the rest of the world, of what happens when you mix a lot of cultures together.

Theres good things about it, and bad things. For example London is nice because you can pretty much experience any culture in the world there, through all the different restaurants and venues etc. But mixing all these cultures together can cause problems too. Some don't get along, and some want to bring their own laws over here along with their own culture. In the end it may all work out well, but then again maybe it won't.

As for making it all samey, well, in some cases yes, but I think thats probably inevitable anyway, since air travel was invented. So Architects can travel to other countries and design buildings in a certain style, whereas in the past they would have stayed in their own country and cities get their own kind of look compared with other countries. You can carry that over as an analogy for all sorts of things.

Often times though, things get westernised in the west, for example Indian and Chinese restaurants aren't the same in the UK as in india and China. And vice versa, McDonalds in the Middle East doesn't have the same menu as in America. Same happens with people eventually, too, and it kind of evens out.

So yeah, I think its inevitable anyway, and also I think its pretty hard to predict how its going to turn out, could end up being samey, but maybe it won't be too long before different planets or the moon has a different culture on it, so we may go through a samey phase, but it'll just become "earth", and be populated by "Earthians" or something. Then probably have a few "wars" with "Martians" before space travel gets faster and the whole thing steps up to solar systems. In the end I think its mostly the difficulty in communication and travel that causes things to turn out differently.

Also, some languages will probably die out fairly soon-ish. Its nice to have different languages in some ways, but if I'm honest I wish we just all spoke one language. It'd make things so much easier, and different languages can cause an "us" and "them" sort of feeling between nations, which I think for the most part is bad.

What if someone simply does not wish to even see other kinds? Can't live along, and is forced to? I think that can easily bring some grudges. Or a certain group of people would like to bring even their laws with theirselfs along with alot of things nobody in the right mind wants to even hear about, meaning this certain group of people act like a whole foreign entity, a state in a state. Would you feel 100 percent comfortable with the fact that your city has alot of "no go areas"?

Well, the root problem isn't that we're mixing together, its that we've got to learn to give and take. It goes for everyone. The human race as a whole needs to grow up if its going to mix. Individuals need to accept their place in history and do the best they can within the constraints that history forces upon them.

If we can get along, then I think globalisation is a good thing, we should be working together and improving our understanding and communications between each other, not shutting the door and putting up borders. I'm not talking about an instant change, but it should be our goal, imo.

You wear something more to your tastes and you're both satisfied.

Purely environmentally speaking it doesn't matter really how we dress, the quantity and the material/production is the key factor. Optimally I would like people to buy less but more quality clothes.

Most of the immigrants are not as you would think, people who would be persecuted in their country, but most of them are people who failed by a social point of view or perspective at home, and went to another place where no one knows them so they have bigger chances to get by for some time, doing what they did at home that did not make them have any success. Even if they were persecuted by social means, the question that arises is why did they not stand up and fight. If they did not have the balls to fight the social injustice in their country, do you think they will be good soldiers to go fight and die for other countries?

They won't participate to local manifestations and will stay quiet when there will be social turmoil. They won't participate to change. Their social dynamism will be close to zero. But the financial price for having them will be high.

Having foreigners with $0 in their pockets coming to live on your lands will have dramatic consequences. They will work for lower prices, taking the jobs of the locals. Even if they would ask to get payed as good as the locals are payed the companies will hire them because their financial instability makes them easier to be used and on top of this companies which hire them get a good political image by doing this, the companies get the opportunity to show the world their "human face" for helping the poor in getting a living and giving immigrants a chance for integration in the society. This practice is made by using human working power in the process. But the working power that failed at home will fail in their new country as well, as soon as the size of this working power will be relevant to the company. This is the real face of a slow degrading economy. All thanks to the newcomers.
