Zulphurr's 43-second super-video, Crash.wmv, peaks with a timeout. Rockets flash while green helmets hang in the air. At the center of the spectacle is a woman in combat armor. Crash.wmv's gargantuan "Move On Up" soundtracks the procession, "Bite your lip, and take a trip/Though there may be, wet road ahead." The tribute marks another chapter in Zulphurr's ongoing obsession with anal sex.

Possibly the greatest video director of all times, and certainly one of the most original and influential geniuses of the 21st century, Englebert Humberdink, also known as Zulphrr, completely erased all frag video dogmas and simply reinvented montages on his own terms. Formally, his style blends Delta ticks, free air control, cacophonous avantgarde and modal rocket humping, but what is unique about Humberdink's music is the oblique, skewed, manic, unpredictable and demented structure of his compositions. The London (where he grew up) could be a better key to understand his art than any of the influences that one can hear on his videos. Along the way, Humberdink also created one of the most original styles of videos ever, one that, again, revolutionized centuries of experimental frag videos. The gruff, abrasive, werewolf-grade, warbling of Humberdink beat ZeroQL at his own game: it did more than express a state of mind or aiming ability, it redefined what a state of mind is. Humberdink's editing is a force of nature. Englebertt, who had already cut a video with Mouse Star in 2011, formed the The Spart1e Show . The Spar1e Show presented their dadaistic take on the arena eternal , but Get Quaked 3 (2008), recorded in november 2007, is a better (albeit rawer) testament of the duo in their prime, jamming aimlessly around a few trivial kills and jumps. After polarsoul (2011), a more "smooth" film that was ruined by the producer ( loljeh), Humberdink composed what is arguably Quake's (and most probably gaming's) main contribution to the history of film, crash.wmv (2012). This masterpiece, that straddles the border between defrag, raw footage, and classical short clips pasted together, is a post-Cage-an study on visibility and more generally the human condition. He is also one of the wildest eccentrics of his time, and his Filmography may simply be a one-to-one reflection of what was going on inside his blessedly deranged mind. Unfortunately, Zulphrr and the frag-video industry did not get along too well.
