any movie runs at 24fps, that what makes me _think_ keynote was rendered in 24, while they had quake up at 60. they not have equipment for 60 fps stream, making lag

i dont think so. u thinking quake was renderd at 24, which it wasnt because it would look, well, about as terrible as it did, but at least with this setup their intentions were in the right place. maybe frame quality would be worse, because game was still captured at 60 fps.

keynote = 24 fps = less strain on equipment = np

quake = 60 fps = big strain on equipment = lag

(quake was 60 fps because picmip 0 requires high framerate and/or (super)high bitrate)

yesterday's levelup tdm stream proved that there is complete possibility to stream high fps (maybe not 60, but noone complains about lvl^'s stream quality) 0 picmip, smooth looking quake match. There is no excuse here. the stream was fucked, the vods are fucked, end of story. all in all fail. I was so hyped for this. Even after the tournament that devastatingly pissed me off I was waiting eagerly for the vods. And it's still unwatchable. meh

Completely unwatchable, the lag is huge. How come I can get completely lag free livestreams from russia weekly and not even able to view a watchable post-produced vod from quakecon?

The other day I was about to buy a new 27" 120hz monitor costing about 400 dollar but then I realised that I cant bring myself to buy a 5 dollar a month pro subscription due to how we players get treated. I skipped the purchase and will probably skip quake too from now on.

Thats pretty f****d up from my perspective....
