How many ppl are playing xonotic?

Around 60 players are taking part in the TDM nationscup but regarding the casual players I don't know, I rarely play on public servers. Don't expect QL-like activity.

I played some FFA and instagib before summer and i have to say that xonotic is fun

Was caught cheating. Said he was only testing the cheats to help a friend develop them for QL. Begged the community to petition id Software to reverse the ban. Community said fu and fo.

But apparently he's a very nice guy ^^

What is your point? I was one of those who told him to fo back then and I still think that the ban was justified. Now, one year later in my opinion he has suffered enough for what he has done (yes, I believe him that he tested hacks and not used them in competitions). You might have a different opinion on that and that's your good right but spreading lies about someone just because he can't really defend himself here is weak.

I didn't want to go into this all over again because of the 1200+ posts about it at the time, but this in my book is begging us to petition id Software to reverse the ban... please don't quibble about semantics when the real fact is that he cheated and helped others develop cheats to ruin QL.

I don't care if he has a nice smile and makes good jokes and buys you beer - this is the lowest of the low not just for what he did but because of how many friends, and how much trust and support he had in the community at the time. He knew what he was doing more than any kid just trying out a cheat on a random game who he knew nothing about nor knew the community personally...

You can have your opinion but if you state that opinion in the form of defending a cheat by falsely accusing an honest person of lying whilst lying yourself about the cheat's ability to defend himself, then you really need to consider your position.

Don't get me wrong, I hate cheaters. But that zeroql bashing is getting old... I think he had enough. It's a good thing that he still tries to support fps under the same identity.

every cheater keeps playing and cheating afterwards. Thing is if they will be allowed to do so in tournaments and with their nickname.

zero tolerance and no forgiveness are the only tools the community has to try to keep cheating in check.
sure it may seem harsh in some cases but if you aint strict about it more players will start to "just testing cheats lol". beeing good at quake & beeing known to others for tournament performance etc. is an accomplishment that most wont easily risk in an environment where noone forgets. also it endorses players that would never cheat or even touch hacks
