remove the mouse glides, the back has 2 screws, the front has two plastic dents - gently apply force so it bends just enough to open it. Another picture for clarification: click

keep in mind that most of the time, the dents break because the plastic is hard and doesn't bend much but don't worry about it, the mouse will function just the same.

If you're so scared, just get a mouse that doesn't need replacement cord.

The DA costs about 3 WMOs, just get another wmo.

Tinkering and repairing a mouse is NOT an easy task.
It's doable, but without knowledge on what and how to solder, you're just wasting time and money.

I haven't been able to find a video but you need a few tools (soldering iron, solder, wire stripper...) it's much cheaper to just get a new mouse.

On the other hand, if you're afraid to even open it up, take this as a friendly advice and stay away from mouse modding.

i think any mouse that isn't soldered and uses a plug will work, but i've had to sand a plug before to have it fit in. open up your other mice till you find one.

try to wiggle it out as gently as you can without ripping the plug's socket out from the PCB.

Right now I have my WMo opened, I see the cable goes into a white socket thing and then there is a thick black cable, a black cable, then red white and red cables. What do I do now? it doesnt' look removable.

the white socket thing should be the female plug. you want to pull out the WMO cord out if it without breaking the smaller cables or pulling the female socket out of the PCB, which shouldn't be hard.

Not on the newer ones. Years ago it might've just been plugged in, but in the past few years I've tried 2 different wmo's, both had the connector/pins soldered in place.

i haven't looked inside a WMO for years and from what he described it sounded like it was a plugged.

what? isn't the Abyssus sensor which is the same as the DA 3.5 sensor superior compared to wmo1.1a? Or does your abyssus jitters a lot?
