all turkish players miss those servers :/ we had like 50 ping to it which was great for us.

i'm from france and i ping like 44-47ms to german servers. It's ok really.

Sure 40-50 ping is still ok but i prefered 20-25.

20-25 ping is better only for rockets and plasma :D

otherwise the best ping you could get is 30-40, best for lg/mg

assuming system lag=really 0, which is rare, and almost unreachable for casuals and noobs; it is enough to have a 60hz monitor to need a ping way lower than 40, for the lg

id likes to have dozens of empty servers instead of actually useful servers, that's what happened

nah not true in this case, romanian servers had a small group of romanian players on it and later turkish players, but it was always 1 or 2 ca server and 1 duel server being used at most.

Hmm. I usually played FFA/duel on ROM servers and they were pretty active most of the time.

nah not at alot of hours, I know because it used to be the first server that I checked. day times were ok sometimes but it would die out later in the evening usually.

Although I cannot see lower tier servers, that is a case against me.

id software didint pay for these servers initially anyway, was a private thing afaik. id software's intervention would be for ger level activity i think.

id isn't hosting servers

ofc they aren't but they're paying for them, so still they think they save by having empty and idle servers instead of used servers

they only pay for some servers afaik, like ger.

others are set up by either someone who has hosting availability in that country or someone who pays for it from his own pocket.

We actually have some news on this now, I'll mirror some news on the QL forum tomorrow. The Romanian GSP stopped offering the server without any notice.

Good news is that we have a new provider lined up, and a new Romanian server will be online relatively soon.

What do you ping to Sydney? And any idea how you'd ping to Singapore?

Ha! NZ players ping, what, anywhere between 20-40-60 to Syd? Sydney is the Quake capitol for Australia, and NZ is closer to Syd than Perth is! So out of us two who really needs dem servers? I'm lucky to ping 74 to Syd, with most days pinging 80-100. It just peeves me off, just a tiny bit, to see players complaining about 40ish pings. NZ's ping to Singapore would be atrocious though, so I don't even know why you're suggesting that...

I ping roughly 35ms, and that's about as low as you'll get in NZ (from Auckland). People in other parts of the country usually ping +50ms. I imagine I'd ping about 150-200ms to Singapore.

Up to 70 is good ping. There are other locations in which it is impossible to play decently (100+).

Any chance to have North African servers ? one or two servers for duel will be fine, there are some north African servers who are obliged to play in the European servers with high ping, also, in almost every part of Europe you can find a QL server while in Africa there are only in the south and Norths ping in USA better than in there ( 300 ping to South African while 180 to USA)

We used to have both sofia and belgrade, now there's nothing. Romania and Germany were ok, 50 at best, usually 60-65 for me.
