The original is one of my all times favorite game, played it a lot the first time i touched it, also re-played it sometimes thru the years. Didnt knew there was a new version.

maybe xenonauts where its at... im very affraid of these commercial turn based remakes thanks to post-ja2 titles in that series. a noob today probably would be annihilated at omerta sector one going in front with 5 standing mercs emptying the ammo stash trying to shoot trough the whole screen, than obviously concluding the game is shit and uninstall.

the reason why i really loved ja2 and xcom is its entirely possible to fuck up at any stage of the game both in combat or in the management side and than its game over...

so anyone who plays it please report in this thread if its anything like the old game in difficulty/complexity... id really like to know cos im not interested in another poor point and click advanture game ala ja2 back in action =/

For me it's as good as the original. The difficulty is definitely there, especially on classic+ironman.

I wouldnt call the new XCOM a rape of an old franchise. More a modern interpretation. Its not like that they made an fps out of it like Syndicate.
