ESR - Adroits Lan Groups and Schedule

Very disappointing group :/ Either me or dem0n will basicly have one matched game in the whole tournament and that's it.
Guess it goes back to less pcs being available due to the fuckup... which doesn't make it suck any less though :(

Dunno about easiest but it's not what I mean. In your group you at least have 2 ppl who are about your level so you will at least have two good games in worst case. It's of course still really annoying to be out potentially after this few games. Would have been much better for players to have bigger groups with more people moving through and double elimination. I think that's what was planned before the pc issues...

yea i think when baksteen mentioned the "lan experience gap," which can come into play when somebody makes even the smallest of mistakes and turn a match upside down.

That said, no amount of lan experience can shut down a player who's peaking at just the right time, viz., baksteen.

I probably didn't say that well...I actually meant that I believe baksteen will be difficult to beat, even with the sparse LAN experience, precisely because his aim, calmness and balanced fight/flight instincts are all peaking at just the right time.

there should be a bo1 cup with those who placed 3+ in their groups at the end of day1.
and the 2 finalist of that minicup should become #1 & 2 of a theoretical Group E and thus advance to the playoffs the next day.

kinda saddens me that some enthusiastic guys work their asses off to get to these lans just to get the very same handed to them in 2 games of rape & thats it.

Very sad news regarding the PC's and monitors. Hopefully we can still sort out the monitors issue so we can enjoy the games and play at our normal level.

This (PC issue) probably affected both of the tournaments schedules time wise, if you have to deal with this many games in 3x days with 20x less PC's.... This is unfortunate as this will decrease the overall experience for the majority of the attending players who travel from other countries with their own money.

My only complaint regarding the groups (as you always have to have one!:) is that you put all the Swedish players in the duel tournament into the same group. Kind of sucks to play your practice partner/s and m8's :)

Let me guess: mercylimit 20? Otherwise I see no way to play 5 maps in 1 hour. The usual Quake way is to play at most 2 maps in one our. And it's right after semis (2 * bo3, also in 1 hour), so will start delayed in the first place.

This retarded schedule and resulting delays will probably mean some forfeited semis/finals because people will be hurrying their asses to catch planes.

That's exactly what happened at The Party, I guess LANs in NL are cursed.

They said around 10-11 that LAN server will be up in 2 hours... So that was already 2 hours ago.

No 120hz, no LAN server, basically it's like going to an Internet club with your clan. Everyone who didn't go are so happy. I can only imagine people on site aren't unhappy though, with all the weed :D

oh im sure the games will be decent once they are on, im not really complaining about that. its easy to make good content if you have top duellers playing, but whats not easy and they should have prepared for is the massive amounts of dead time they have had on the stream.

yeah well there needs to be banter/interviews etc during the dead time, but its so obvious nothing was planned and sadly dis & vor, 2gd or anyone similar isnt present to wing it and make it entertaining. its just halfassed to the max, letting drunken people constantly stumble their way into the stream and the stream has just been mainly irrelevant and annoying in general

Wasnt during dead time, was in a game. The dead time i just do other stuff, but when they talk about random stuff in a game it totally ruins everything. Couldnt hear anything else than two drunk casters babbeling around.

av3k vs baksteen had its moments, but overall it was boring, it was like a game with much worse enemy... av3k raped, then gave bk some space so he could get some frags

czm bk - only 3rd map was good... you can also watch hub to see how czm is awesome there

plz get a tdm player to cast with 102 CZE group A stage match ( purri / mobius / silencep / prodx / czm for example ) and tomorrow someone from group A to cast se #1 - nl or something...
don't get me wrong, ins / zoot are ok duo, but they miss on so much stuff that goes on with team play during this boring "oh what a nice rail..." "ah that rocket/nade..." "the mega is up, i wonder is he knows?" stuff...

I normally get bored watching QL TDM very quickly, but god damn did Purri make it interesting. I'd love to see the game thru his eyes. And czm made for a nice color commentator as well, i liked their chemistry. Hope they get to cast more together!

i was really drunk yesterday iand i sort of got emotional. anyway im gonna take it easier today and take a break after breakfast beer. its an amazing atmosphere and everyones coming along really great with each other. atmospherewise this is better than dreamhack or eindhoven. see ya on stream

They said something about 10 am yesterday (CET, CEST?) so we can expect the stream after 12.
You are right about schedule. I have lots of work this weekend and I wanted to go out too.
I just want to see 3-4 duel matches today and it shouldn't take more than 3h :/

If somebody involved in the event organisation read this :

Please, DO SOMETHING about the schedule. Try to put some realistic shedule and stick with it. Not that I want to be a whining bitch or whatever but it's painful for me to change the shedule on my news on esportsfrance.

I put the time when it's supposed to start (9h). Then I wake up before 9 to be prepared. I wait an hour... change the time on the headline of the news. Wait another hour, change the time again and have to change the time for the TDM news also because I know it's going to be delayed...

How can I make a good job out of it ? And no communication at all from the people out there ?

Please, for the love of Quake, don't mess that much with the schedule or at least gave us infos.

This is an everlasting problem. Either you make the life of people at home hard, but keep the relaxed atmosphere at the event, or vice versa.

Given the technical restrictions of this event, I think the admins are already doing the best it is possible.

I must say I agree, however when purri and czm took over I was delighted.

On another note; zoot has really upped himself in regards to casting duels. I find myself enjoying his casting more and more each time. Ins providing his intimate feedback every now and then is great, although it's pretty clear he's not the casting type rather than the playing type. I for one couldn't do what ins does though. I can only think about what happens in the game, much less utter few words about it, but to start speculating, analyzing and what not is a talent in and of itself.

So either way, I'm enjoying it so far. But yes, czm and purri for tdm casting again when possible. Was well entertaining and provided me with some valuable insight that I had overseen in many of my tdm games (be it with a team or pickup).
