Didn't say that, of course you can play video games in your free time and even play something as competitive as Quake. However he's asking about competing in tournaments. This involves practice and dedication, especially if we talk about someone like Socrates who was a professional top player for some time. I don't think that if you have the mindset that someone like him has/had towards competitive Quake, you would just play tourneys for fun.
Seeing av3k, cypher and spartie I dont think youll need to prac that much to stay at your lvl. Even I can take half a year of and then rule the 1600 elo trololo
think he stopped playing after the q4 wsvg finals. don't know what place he finished. googled early interview from the start of q4 http://www.gotfrag.com/q4/story/30605/
I think he was participating at some american 100$ online tournament like a year ago or so and was saying he's living at Hawaii or some other distant place, unable to play.
I might be totally making it (or parts of it) up tho.
I wanna know if players like Jibo still play because there's a duel cup happening in asia region and thanks to the singapore servers australians can enter too! (Mainly from Western Australia Though)
