After last week's win by evil, FACEIT Sunday Cup #6 is coming up. The tournament will start at 08:00 CST, with check-ins opening at 07:00 CST. Sign-ups are already open.

Everyone is allowed to enter the competition, whether you have a high or low level. Casting will, as you are used to by now, be provided by

Xavier "Zoot" Dhorne and

Daniel "ddk" Kapadia. The map pool will again be the same seven as at DreamHack Winter.

disagree. i cant put up with the endless flood of words, its like he says things just so there isnt a split second of silence. i do like his casting in general but its like listening to a woman, you get sick and annoyed of it very quickly and then focus more on ignoring it.

yeah, So I'm assuming that you're the faceit's 1st. line target for sure... I mean if they really want to provide the good quality stream for this kind of connection options only, then ok. In this case the own3d's stream is perfect atm.

Ok, as far as it is my fault, then it's all good, and I'm not blaming anyone, but... There is still a question - why is nothing else lagging for me? All the other streams on own3d.tv, not really from other games(!), but for example the russian one works perfectly, on HD quality... So why is this only one, FACEIT's main stream that lags so much?
I don't get it. ;)

ah, think that means they arent nuking bitrate and instead are using a much higher resulotion than other streams

if bitrate is even a real thing when it comes to video streaming!!

or faceit has lower bitrate and relies to higher fps for image quality, while empire is high bitrate and low fps

Just for the sake of correctness, there's a typo in there. In "gg.ru stream takes ~800kbit@360p while faceit takes around 1kbit@480p" it's of course supposed to mean 1mbit@480p.

Otherwise I've really said everything there is to say on this topic. Enjoyed the gg.ru stream myself today and was very pleased. Not only with the ingame video quality but also with the studio design. Too bad I'm not understanding a word but we're all having our priorities I guess.

id really like to see that movie in the end of the stream but it lags like the living shit as soon as it begins (even at 360p ...)

I am saying it with deepest regret - but I will never look up the main FaceIt stream again. Only the Russian smooth and sexy feed is doing the job.
Wtf does the FaceIt team awaiting from their bandwidth-heavy config? Are they waiting for all of us to connect some special T1 dedicated lines? Fat f*cking chance. Russian does what FaceIt don't. No offence to FaceIt orgs, all offence goes to stream maintenance team.

Sorry to hear that. Everyone is working extremely hard on fixing issues, but it mainly seems that the problem is on own3D's side, the bandwith doesn't seem to have anything to do with it (I for one have terrible internet and have not had any problems).

We have been working hard with own3D to fix the issues for everyone. It seems more and more people get access, but our work is not finished until everyone can join in.

Hopefully you will join us next time in and appreciate our efforts to bring the best experience possible to both viewers who have been watching Quake for years, but also new people who need that eye candy to stay/come aboard.

Because we have a partnership with own3D, we stick to our word and they have put in a significant amount of effort in helping us and promoting Quake.

i complained about this since the 2nd or 3rd cup? and it hasn't been fixed yet. If I start a vod that's 2 hours long, and want to watch a game that starts at 1:35:00, I have to watch thru the entire thing instead of just being able to skip to a different time on the timeline. If I try this, it just replays the entire vod from the beginning but keeps going on the said timestamp. Try it yourself. Also, it has nothing to do with VOD processing, because this happens in vods that are weeks old. Either cut up seperate maps/matches, or something else. its pretty annoying that I have to wait for that one guy to post links to the mp4 files and dl 2 gigs of mp4 files to watch 1 game.

I know, everyone has this issue and we are well aware. There were some problems with own3D, which didn't allow us to put them on Youtube. It has been fixed now so we'll put them on YT asap.

About the stream lags: If you use Chrome as your browser, try using Firefox or IE for own3d. This solved the issue for me, in Chrome I couldn't even watch 360p, in Firefox HD stream runs smoothly.
Chrome has that Pepperflash plugin which uses loads more CPU than the standard Flash plugin and it uses only one CPU core. Other video streaming sites like Twitch work fine in Chrome for me.

Yesterday I was at my gf flat, 4Mb shit internet and the russian stream was perfectly smooth in HD whereas the official stream was lagging in HD/480/360p :(
