In order to better understand the demand and being able to provide the best settings for the cups, we are going to test a new format for the
Quake Live Daily Cups. In a nutshell, we
increased the rank-caps to levels 4, 6, 8 and 10, and removed the free-account map pool from the lowest level. More details below.
Mon: Levels 4 and 8 Tue: Levels 6 and 10 Wed: Levels 4 and 8 Thu: Levels 6 and 10
Time: 13:30 CST
Prize Distribution: 4$, 2$, 1$, 1$, 0.5$, 0.5$, 0.5$, 0.5$
Format: Bo1 until quarter, bo3 rest.
Map pool: (Premium maps) Aerowalk, Battleforged, Blood Run, Furious Heights, Lost World, Silence, Toxicity
Map picking: pick, pick, drop, drop, drop, drop

Because playing in the level 8 is no fun for someone, who is barely over level 6. E.g. 1551 elo.
Also the premium-map only thing is good.
I hope you gona mix the maps again in the future. Its good for an AVERAGE player to have changing mappools with "pick" first. So you HAVE to learn a lot of maps in order to win.
