Fresh stuff is always welcomed, and it can only get better, so props for the initiative.

A couple of suggestions from my end that could potentially help:

- be relaxed when you're talking Tem, you're speech flow is very segmented by short pauses and heavy breathing. I know you can talk normally because I met you IRL and all, so just apply that mindset.

- keep your important points short and concise, without too much derailment. Sometimes it can be good but having it too often hurts the whole flow of the show.

- try to avoid the usage of too much slang, especially inside jokes such as "hobo princed", this ain't E- mang.

- get a couple of webcams in, it does not hurt overall and it only makes the show better for people not tuning to it as a podcast. I'd rather have that instead of a static image.


Now, I want to share my 2 cents on the DH Quakelive production value subject you guys talked about.

To begin with, you cannot even talk about production values on DH quake streams, because they were never there and never will be. That does not necessarily mean a bad thing, but to talk about production values you need to have an actual dedicated production team there. Whacking a webcam and 2 microphones on a desk is quite far from that idea.

The whole key element is to keep it light, fun and entertaining because in the end that's why people tune in, to see some good fucking quake games and be entertained by various things during down-times. I would say literally copy/paste what was done during DreamHack Winter 2010 and the community would love it. I want to commend NVC's efforts in trying to improve the production value of this DHW's stream but unfortunately you will always be limited to the setup you have to work with, so better focus your effort in making everything else around it as entertaining as possible. Another thing your brought up was playing old quake movies, that is fine as long as it's followed up/combined with something extra afterwards. And no, I totally disagree that you should only play movies that promote DreamHack, this goes against everything they stand for, as they are one of the coolest if not, THE coolest major tournament organizer out there. Simply put, they do not give a fuck as long as people love watching whatever is being put on.

I still want and will make sure that we run a "LAN" QL invitational at The GD Studio sometime in the future, where proper production values can be put to work, because Quake deserves this kind of respect.

Well 2010 there still was a stermy,fazz,tox,fox,fazz and more important 2GD casting it! And i guess more or less everybody will agree that he is the best quakecaster ever been on the mic cause he holds the balance between entertaining and analyzing. I mean the dreamhack before this one when he at least came arround to cast a single match with calipt was more fun to watch then every other game that Dh.

I skipped through it and i just wanted to mention that it's the players decision as to when they want to provide 'entertainment' or 'commentary' on stream. I'm not there to force them into something they don't want to do, and the chair was always available to everyone whether i offered it or not. These players want to win, and if that means that they want to disappear or relax between their games then so be it. Some players are more willing than others, and as a player myself i understand and respect both stances.

As for the video, like Trance mentioned it needs a couple of webcams and perhaps some indication of current topic. Maybe even time-stamps to skip to the specific segment the viewer may (or may not) want to watch.
