MLG and ESPN used to be partnered back in 2008-2009.

I didn't know that MLG is awful for esports though. It seems content on just taking the current most popular game and forming an esport around it instead of taking a good esport game and forming esports around that.

the biggest obstacle is the negative view traditional sports viewers would and do have against esports, who are obviously their main target audience whom they want to please. at most, I think we'd see occasional broadcasts of big tournaments on ESPN, but nothing akin to the constant coverage of traditional sports.

ESPN doesn't have much to show on sunday afternoons after countdown is over. Its usually bowling. Gaming would be good on TV if it was done in a tasteful way not an over the top corny way like every event that has made it on tv has tried.

death of proper games, only lol, sc2 and call of duty will remain. quake will forever be a nerds game
