for those wondering. i did some reasearch, and from a recent russian interview evil modeled a lot of his style (aggressive, favors LG) and config from strenx. He uses a Kinzu, QcK heavy, low sens and cl_mouseaccel 0 just like strenx
Hah, was just about to comment and agree with lolograde. imo Hektik really makes both of your points(aggro LG pref&spotty aim):
After almost six minutes of play, Cypher built a decent but shaky lead based on good predict rox&rail from long distance. Evil stayed in the match, because he simply "out-meleed" Cypher most of the time in close quarters using a big swooping jump dodge while steadily aiming shaft.
Then from out of nowhere, he starts hitting rails. First at 6:24(match clock) to crater Cypher, then a second, then a third. And he just kept on rolling. Dueling Evil must feel like playing three different revolving players. Evil the autoringer!
Go and look at some vods on strenx's twitch channel to see how he holds his arm/wrist and how he moves the mouse.
He holds the mouse right at the edge of the table with his arm completely off/away from the table; every single strafe movement is a large swipe of the wrist whilst not moving the location of his wrist at all; that only moves when he is in prolonged lg fights.
march 2010, but it is very very low nonetheless. Consider that pad is 45 cms wide and that he swipes through it just to go 90°
if you don't believe people play with such low sens then you could try tox's cfg with your chinese wmo. 0 accel, raw input, absurdly low sens/m_yaw, "same" mouse, hits 99% lg while not crashing with walls. http://configs.eu/_quakelive/configdownload.php?file=tox.rar
Actually its equivalent to 2 at wmo because strenx uses 1 ingame with 800 dpi which is 52.2 cm's/360
4 sens 400 dpi wmo would be 25.9 cm's/360 and 2 sens 400 dpi is exactly 51.9 which is close enuff
There is a strange situation in the ZTN match, starting from 7:28; Evil comes out from the teleporter exit upon the stairs, and he turns to his left instead of going down the stairs;
he jumps in the corridor that brings to the plasma room, and while turning around the corner, right before entering the room, he switches to the lightning gun, and he corrects his aim like if he was tracking the enemy model, that is running straight to the corridor that brings to the red armor (and moments before was on the stairs that brings to the door to the corridor to the red armor) :
the strange thing is that the enemy's model is never visible, while it runs around, but instead of just pointing the crosshair to the door exit, like if he heard it jumping in that area, he tracks it for a short time, while it is already in the corridor;
More strangely, he even shoots some cells in the exact point to intercept it if it was in an open space, while instead it is already covered by the wall. The point on which he shoots is not near the door borders. He then stops shooting, and decides to run to the door lefting the room to follow it.
These actions are not easily comprehensible, and the first times you watch it, they surprises you; that action, the try to shoot the enemy while it is not visible, it is particularly strange, because it's not like if he had visual contact and then he lost it, or like if it was a place that he could have been so sure about the enemy's position; he never has direct eye contact since he comes out from the teleporter and before;
but the thing that really doesn't makes sense is the quick shooting to the wall, it is totally meaningless, even if watched again and again; and the aim is accurate, is not like he was entering the room spamming the lg around, or, more logically, spamming it in the direction of the door the enemy entered; that would have been an acceptable thing to do, basing on the eventual sounds.
It is a surprising action, that always comes up to eyes when following the events;
and it is difficult to find a rational explanation.
b4 taking the telly he saw cypher and spammed plasma, therefore he knows cypher is probably in the plasma room since no plasma ball hit, Cypher had to take a jumppad: a slower way to go upstairs, so he knows he may be in time to hit some damage and pulls out the LG. While in the corridors Evil heards Cyph in the plasmaroom, jumping, so probably running away and spams LG where he predicts he would run.
Then Evil predicts Cypha's going red and probably will shoot a defensive rocket and start turning to the right, to be more accurate after the corner: he is a lowsenser, this means watching the right direction and having the mouse perfectly in the center of your "comfortable mouse zone" is not as simple as it is for guys with higher sens/acc combo. So he turns beforehand to maximize the accuracy of the lg right after the corner. Also moving that way he lands in a spot not that easy to hit with a rocket since those're not "standard movement", if you want to chase Cypher without eating rockets that's the way probably.
Plus, it's not like he hit 100% LG right after the corner, he misspredicts where cypher is going since he's not around red shooting, so slowing down a little to turn properly to maximize output dmg didn't work.
tl;dr: you are a dump, he won DH last month doing things like that and in this video there isn't anything even remotely suspicious.
First of all, nobody is accusing nobody of anything;
i'm just pointing out a strange, apparently unexplainable situation;
that still doesn't seems casual, but seems more a strange mistake.
When you said is could have been due to his low sensitivity, and so lifting the mouse, moving it and then replacing it misfiring, i thought it could have been a realistic explanation for the strange shooting near an enemy that is not visible trough a wall; so i re-watched the point, in ztn from 7:28, but it appears soon clear that the shooting is, most probably, even if not certainly, not due to the replacing of the mouse; because it's accurate near the enemy's hitbox, and even a little further like predicting to intercept the enemy's trajectory;
and because it's not the classic random shot that happened to everyone sometime, maybe even because quickly switching the mouse it collides with the keyboard or the laptop's boards.. This is a prolonged shot, more specifically the fire is kept pressed while switching from the rocket launcher to the lightning gun, so trough the entire switching process, while the LG shaft starts to come out from the side, get straight with the barrels, and starts to effectively connect the shots; additionally, it is kept firing for some cells after the switching completed, so it definitely cannot be an attack button accidentally pressed;
Regarding the crosshair position, it seems it cannot be explained with a tentative to place better the next jump, to follow quicker the enemy's position deducted from the sounds; to the contrary, that additional turning makes to loose speed and the orientation for the ideal following jump; this is the aspect that maybe jumps to the attention more, because it interrupt the natural flows of the moving jumps, just to... suddenly shoot a wall, interrupt, and then restarting to follow the enemy.
The action remains strange and not explainable with certainty; i suggest to anyone to take a look at that point, in the ztn match, from 7:28.
