There is no using it better and aiming with it better. You either outaim your opponent or not. People think LG is all about the percentage. It's really not. It's also about positioning and dodging, too (both opponent and your wise). I remember a game between you and k1llsen on ZTN where you had around 46% LG and k1llsen had 50%. Does that count? Not really, because neither of you were dodging.
If we relied solely on percentage Heartless would be the best aimer, but in a real battle he would be outaimed by any decent dueler. That's why evil's LG is sick, because even if he has 30%, he outaims his opponents in battles.

Yes there is using it better and aiming with it better, evil's lg aim is nothing compared to strenx's, but he does way more damage with it off the battles than strenx, that's why he uses it better.

And what makes you think that heartless would get outaimed vs any decent dueler? Honestly I think he would easily be on 1800 elo lvl after a couple of duels just because his combat skills are sick. It's not only his lg but rather his overall aim combained with really good dodging.
I have played my fair share vs pros and semi pros and there weren't that much where I was thinking "holy motherfucker I need to hide from his lg". You know the lg which just sticks on you no matter how good you dodge and even pushes you a bit back. That's the real gozu lg which is different from the average 40% lger :P

its annoying me actually. there i striking evidence that cooller is not a nice man and wasnt passionate about quake at the end of his carreer at all. with all respect to his achievements: fuck cooller ,thats right i said it.

we know that and still are fanboys, though avek and strenxie are becoming more popular fast by doing the opposite. For example strenx is the only player that gives "100+ elo tips" for free.

the thing about strenx is complicated i dont know what to think of him. back in 2010/11 he was just the annoying rage kid. then 2 things happenend, he matured and he improved by visibly learning from his mistakes. meanwhile he continued beeing a rage kid which he claims now is only show to piss off people. then he switched to shootmania! ...!... but then he did some charity for quake and gave lessons donated money for cups and shit. i really dont know what to think of it as a whole.

I can rely on countless scores from zotac and stuff... you never did play on equal terms with top players, and my skills are irrevalant, as i got data that proves me right :-)

besides that... I also have said many times that I cannot play my game online due to reasons I cannot control (as I've shown / proven that the netcode favors people who play lg only and have a bad connection (evil / strenx / some others).
And I've argued this from a very neutral point of view as it doesn't "just matter to me". But people as blind as you think I whine about stuff because I'm egocentrical.
While if you would know me I give away stuff almost all the time and I've always tried to help out making ql the best game it can be. (people should know that I've been (one of) the most active focus testers out there in the early life of ql... got somewhat busy with other things later on though as I don't have as much free time now as I had back then.)

Watch how my game progresses @ DH where I suck at day one, play fairly ok towards the end of my games vs spart1e (which btw were close) and how I play some warmup maps vs sc00t for his games in the playoff.

Or perhaps it is more clear (to you) if you see my games vs Lukelawlz where i played him on the final day of dh quite a few maps which all go heavily into my favor.

Also there are demos of me playing vs spart1e in one of the first clanbase cup where he's extremely fortunate to win (as I was nervous as f*ck and missed like 8 rails to win the game :p)

(with the exception of 1 game I played vs noctis which just didn't fit well with my real life schedual as I actually got back home just after our game was supposed to start and had to jump right in etc... lowsy excuse I know. But I lost that game really badly :p).

In my official games there are many instances where I beat players who you think are good.... but when they lose to me (consistently) it must be a fluke.
One that comes to mind is me beating purri on t4 for some tournament. Where the shoutcasters (2gd + someone) were going "why the f*ck would weird pick t4".

I refuse to lower myself to the standards of my opponents. (not all of my opponents ofcourse but this is the reason why I often lost in zotac's to people around the 1600 elo margin. They would just put torrents on vs me)

I've explained this several times.

If you play agressive on a reasonably high ping (around 50 - 55) with overusing the lg you have an insanely large advantage in every fight where you 'hit first'.

And every warping connection has an even bigger advantage (which is why I hate to play both k1llsen and strenx)

Cypher has trouble on his connection because it is a stable really high ping (around 80 or higher). Which then only partially gets corrected by ql netcode... which makes it feel as if your aim floats around -> unstable aim (especially in lg / rail fights).

those are the only games I saw from you (I don't know if dm6 vs stermy was official or not), I guess it depends on what you call "lose big"
not trying to add to the drama but it's odd for someone who seems to rely on smarts (I read somewhere on this forum that you time pretty much everything on the map on top of thinking about the opponent's position/weapons/stack) not to be able to compete from the get go at a LAN event

For an anonymous you actually know quite a bit... At least you're a shitload more accurate than most registered users.

In my game vs dkt you're absolutely right.
And well I hate to make excuses so I won't. I just played really bad in there in my own eyes.
Playing on lan for the first time in ages kinda made me feel like 'my shots actually hit' which was something I wasn't used to feeling... so I went into some hyper agression mode where I thought I could win on aim. Which is just a logic as to why I made my mistakes (not any excuse :P).

in The arena #3 I played in was okish though. I started out pretty badly on aerowalk by not hitting stuff... but after I threw like 5 frags at av3k I did really good in many situations. The score eventually was fairly ok on both maps... Especially if you know that av3k won the tournament by beating rapha and cypher afterwards.
Next to that I was really in my "god it's online he has ping 50 I cannot do ^&*^ vs that" time.... which I still kinda am in untill ID fix the netcode (force cg_autotimenuge 1 or just disable the backwards reconciliation..).

The game vs stermy on dm6 was actually close though... it was like 10 - 5 (or something) with just 2 minutes to go. He kinda had control from the start by hitting some absolute monsterous shots (at least for early in the ql erra his aim was seriously on in the start of that game).
But on dm6 if it's 10 - 5 you still have to rush quite a bit to make up 5 frags in 2 minutes. So I had to pretty much go into every fight... that didn't work out too well for me hehe :D
And like usual the last few mins of a game which is already decided are just some fun.

I think he did destroy me at the map after (or before) that though.. which nobody has seen ;)

My connection to the usa is fine.
I only have some high ping (which really messes up my opponents... which helps me to still win those games).

But if you want to know rapha refuses to play people who ping as high as me on usa servers because it fucks up the game too much.

But I have beaten some decent north american players in official online usa tournaments.
It's just hard to play in them because it's so late at night... the first few rounds are ok but then when you get to the quarter / semi's and it's 5at night... it becomes hard to focus hehe ;)

you could drop (for ql): madix, guard, fazz. As they are not "clearly better than me" although guard would whine that he is on that list. As he finds themselves shitloads better than me... regardless of the games we played.
Perhaps the same for fazz... as he clearly doesn't think highly of my skill.

Also the following have not been (continuously) active during the period of ql: fox, stermy, noctis, czm, zero4, toxjq.

3 of the players are also "recently good" (aka haven't been around in the earlier days of ql): Evil, Pavel, Agent.

Also like mentioned before I very barely lost my 1st official vs spartie (aka like 4 overtimes in 3 maps where I won 1 and missed a ton of rails to not win the 2nd..). And even on DH our game was close (3-1 for spart1e).

So basically you're left with: Rapha, Cooller, Cypher, Killsen, Av3k, strenx, dahang.......... spart1e.
So tada... top10.

I've beaten agent, evil and pavel several times in the past... so to say that they are higher in skill than me is strange.
At the moment they might be though, as I've (probably) gotten a bit worse and they might've gotten better.

No I'm saying that fox, noctis, czm, zero4, toxjq did not play official games while I was active (well noctis did play me 1ce in an official).
Stermy only played ql well before I said that I was good (although I did end top4 in a few online tournaments while he was active)... and even back when he played the skill level between us was not large.

Regarding fazz and madix... well you're wrong.
And you're gonna try to put the fact checking up to me... but I cba to do it. I know I beat madix in multiple official games. And I'm actually not sure if I ever played an official vs fazz.

Also it's not my list of names so I can't forget to mention people. I just went through his list fairly easy... For instance I personally feel like it's unfair to put spart1e as "clearly better" than me. As in our officials I took quite a few maps and there were many overtimes.

btw about fazz... I checked all my screenshots vs him. And back when I mainly played ctf he won quite consistently vs me (around 25-30% wins for me and 70-75% for him and we played quite a lot so the record is somewhere around 15 vs 55). Although I must say that there are a lot of t9 games (the map I've consistently dropped in all tournaments which I've played).

While I was wearing my duel tag I lead 6 maps vs 3.
Could be that he played less around that time though.

Does that make Sothis stronger than Pavel? With your logic, way stronger, considering that if he would have lost with-not-so-much-difference to Pavel, he would have been "around his level"; Killsen beated Rapha on lan, would you say he is stronger than Rapha? No? then why you claim to be stronger than peoples you have never fought or that have even beated you?

There are a lot of quake players that have beaten you online, players whose names aren't even known by the major part of the other quakers; and yet you claim to be not only top 10, but top 4!?! This is lack of respect, or simply madness.

I don't claim to be better than people because I beat them once. At that time I was consistently outplaying every player I played against (including many pro's). I just lost to everyone who had a horrible connection.
Not because they had more skill but because my aim would fall apart as I base my aim way more on the enemy model than most pro's do.

Because of that I couldn't do sh*t online... like the zotacs I've played in, at that time, I would win all games up till the game where someone would have torrents on or came from france or poland (man those guys warped at the time).

My stats would instantly drop like 30-40% (aka if I hit 35% lg it could easily drop to around 25% when playing them).
And I would end up losing because I lost battles where I had possitional and heath/armor advantage... something which would never happen on lan.

I remember so many battles (vs some of the people you call pro) where I was 200 / 200, took an lg battle from a favorable possition... and lost.
The ql netcode punishes those who play fair and on a good connection. And even with that handicap I was taking down (consistently) people who ended top8/top16 at international events.

No, you are really unrespecting all of these pros that are undoubtedly stronger than you, and additionally doesn't whine even the half than you do when they have some supposed disadvantage; expecially in regarding of Spart1e.
Comes to my mind some other names that they didn't mention, Prozac, Jibo, and Zamuz, but i'm sure there are others, that maybe are actually inactive, stronger than you... you are not even close to top 10, nor to top 4.

Dunno I kind of agree...of all the top players Rapha's style is the easiest for me to explain. That is probably just because I've played him a lot and watching a lot of his matches though. 95% of the games I've played Rapha I always felt outplayed but I also remember a lot of those "zis is Rapha" moments too :P

So I am surprised that he [Strenx] is unable to figure out why he loses to Rapha but he is able to explain Cypher and av3k's style so well (to be honest I think he was a bit wrong about Cypher though but that is just me).

For instance when rapha does not go for an item which "he should have" according to strenx (aka strenx would say 'rapha makes a mistake of not going blabla'). Strenx would just keep on guarding that item while rapha picks up everything and gets possition.

In strenx his mind... strenx only loses because of 3 possible things either "his opponent hits more important shots" or "his opponent made a mistake and got into a lucky situation" or "he had control all game long and picked up all items".

All 3 of this boil down to him not having any clue where the opponent is and what he's doing.
In this interview he also talks about how russians told him that "sometimes you need to time/deny health bubbles". But he doesn't really understand why. The only view strenx has is his own, when someone defiates from that the guy is making 'clear mistakes'.

There is this video of strenx casting his own game... where he continuously goes: "Here he makes mistake and I brain him".... followed by "OW %$%^*#&*$^# he is so lucky here". Which he still wins because of a 70pc railgun but it just shows that he's clueless.

Next to that I don't have any behavior which needs to be excused. At least not on esr. I sometimes get too frustrated about stuff ingame though but even there I'm never really disrespectful to my opponents. I am merely saying that I myself feel that I cannot play my game due to reasons beyond my control.
(Where you could argue semi succesfull that to think that is disrespectful to others but if I'm right then obviously I'm just stating facts (which I know I am... and pretty much everybody I talked to actually agrees with me in private but they won't publically announce it because they either fear the esr community or are not convinced that I have the correct arguement as to why the 'errors' occur.))

QL won't change cos it is a dictatorship, besides netcode takes shitloads of work unlike adding maps and worthless features. Just fight for a good netcode in incoming games, all quake series are dead as fuck, sad but true : D

ID implemented cg_autotimenudge which imo should be forced to 1. Which, when everyone uses it, solves the netcode issue in a way (not the most optimal way but it makes insanely much more sense with it on 1.... on high pings it might warp though. But at least players aren't punished for having good connections if it's forced to 1).
This probably took them 10 minutes because I've written down on their internal forum how to do so (almost 2 (maybe even 3) years ago though).

It is your lack of comprehension or hate/dislike against players like strenx/k1llsen. We all know that you always hated against strenx even tho he would rape you so hard on lan that your own father wouldn't recognize his own son's asshole anymore.
How can you even say he doesn't understand anything when he had the biggest improvement of all players in only 1-2 years? Heck people called him even a favourite despite rapher/cypher attendance. Cypher was always his biggest problem in tournaments and he even admitted that he doesn't know how to beat him but somehow he figuered it out and was able to overcome his biggest obstacle on lan.

I'd like to see you playing in a zotac final vs such a caliber and then to comentate your own game. You clearly would do a lot better :D:D. And I don't even get why you would pick this as your best arguement when he clearly stated that he understood plenty more after practicing with av3k and cypher. This game was a few months before. Nice arguementation skills you got.

I can say that he doesn't understand it because I played vs him at the start of his "succes journey" and afterwards I told him what he was lacking.
He said that he wouldn't take advice from a noob like me so I beat him the next map and I went afk... he never wanted to play vs me again.

He's still lacking the same. But almost all people who have retardedly good aim lack this. As it is a skill you develop from not being able to win back map control 'because you hit more'.


Well I won't cast and play an official at the same time (I'm much more professional than that). But there is never any place in any game I've played where I went: haha he makes a mistake followed by #$*&Q$. Simply because I look at the game in terms of options which people have left. If he (imo) makes a mistake, I imediately think about how he can still make the most out of it.

Once you can see that someone else has a different idea on how to play the game, you can use that to either further your own game or to punish his style.

I won/finished top3 in shitloads of local lans though (in mutliple games at the same time).
At some point in time I actually won q3, q4, pk, ut2k4, ut2k4 instagib and ut2k4-2v2 instagib at 1 dutch lan.

But I don't really know how much earnings that would all total up to... as I never kept track. However if you win so many different games the stuff actually adds up quite fast hehe...

I used to hate Strenx for his attitude but he keeps proving that he matured A LOT by being more clear-headed, calm and acknowledging his opponents' strengths as much as their weaknesses imo, and that's a nice thing to see
