Synapse 2.0 works OFFLINE
One of the biggest misunderstandings is the equation of Synapse 2.0 to always-on DRM. It’s a popular notion that anything requiring a login has DRM included in it, and this misconception is one that easily gets the community fired up. In this case however, it’s incorrect.
Once registered, Synapse 2.0 works offline and never needs to be online again. So basically, a user creates an account, saves initial settings, and if there’s no internet connection, it doesn’t matter; settings are saved on the client PC and are not synced to the cloud. Synapse 2.0 works offline.
my experience with DA2013 after 750 cs 1.6 deathmatch frags and 750 cs go deathmatch frags this afternoon:
pro: thumb.gif
+ rubbergrip on the side is amazing, very good control, better than 3.5G DA
+ switches (main, side and wheel) are great, better than 3.5G DA (only my right mousebutton sucks, see below @ cons)
+ scroll-wheel very good, don't know if better 3.5G DA or not, i personally like it
+ surface on top and bottom very nice, good build-quality, seems solid overall
+ mouseskates very nice also, very smooth glide on steelseries qck & 9hd better than stock ones of 3.5G DA
+ Lift Off Distance is low compared to the 3.5G DA
cons: mad.gif
- sensor: i don't know what they build into the sensor, but i needed very long to get used to it. and i am not yet really satisfied.
i tried severall dpi steps (400, 800 thats one of the predefined, 1800 also one of the 5 keysteps) but i don't get the feeling of accuracy like on my other mice.
don't know if there is some kind of interpolation or whatever, but for me personally (at the moment) its a backstep in comparison to the 3.5G DA.
i tried with synapse 2.0 running and without. no change. but it isn't a kind of lag like on the Taipan, it just doesn't go where i want to aim at.
i need to add that i switch my mice quiet often coming from IE 3.0, Zowie EC1, Logitech MX518 and G400. i swap around a lot, and normally i need 10 minutes
and im into a mouse. needed hours with this one to aim quiet secure.
- right mouse button: WAY too easy to activate, activated by accident already few times, propably i am unlucky and its not a general problem because all other buttons
are easy to click but very tactile at the same time
not so important aspects:
- this mouse should have called black edition because its really black, a lot darker than the 3.5G DA and Black Edition
- cable seems to be the same as the former DAs
i guess i gonna give it a try for a week or so and decide if i go for RMA because of the right click or even refund because of the sensor
Razer forces you to create an account with them before you can use the software with the mouse. You cant configure the mouse in any way until you make an account with them and activate your computer and account through their server. If they decide to take down their activation server for any reason, you will never be able to use the software. If you live somewhere without access to internet, you will not be able to activate and use the software.[...]
Razers Synapse 2.0 software is always online. If you have an internet connection active, Razer will be constantly using it constantly downloading updates and interrupting your full screen applications. Not only that, as I suspected, the Synapse 2.0 software is spying on you

imo the DA 2013 is the best razer mouse ever.
