Maybe it should be possible for entire configs and a log of all vstrs, cvars, alias, binds etc that have been used by each player over the course of each match to be openly available for download by anyone, this way online cups can add a "forbidden rjump" rule, and admins can download cfg and logs and see if there is any rjumping going on for each player, or any other similar controversial script. This will have added benefits such as no more "GIEF CYPHER'S CFG" drama after each lan, amongst other things.
What do you think about removing rjump scripts palatka? :::::DDDDD
This seems to me the only viable solution, because removing scripting altogether would leave us without such wonders as volume/gamma control, nick colour changes, toggle lagometer, stupid clusters of /say binds, and a large etc...

yes, and in esl/clanbase/kuh3liga/you name it. what was banned after getting used a lot in one ctf eurocup is the mentioned forward rj script aka. ninja (which was the name given by fox to the vstr in his config iirc).
your lag doesn't matter as long as both commands arrive at the same time. in response to megaman3 the old scrips that manually look down are less versatile than what nymphets pasted... but then again neither of them are a ninja script.
If this is about the current RJ script I say leave it. The advantage it provides is minimal.
Since there is know yawspeed and pitchspeed, a proper RJ script that performs the RJ for you is not possible. All this script does is help you to hit jump and attack in closer succession.
The rocket jumps mentioned in this thread are really easy to do manually.
Really you need much more careful timings on most things than you do to hit +attack and +moveup at a quick enough interval to perform an RJ.
I can understand players on LAN with money on the line wanting the tiny bit of extra consistency, but it's really just psychological. It's a very very minor advantage if at all. Not worth implementing code to prevent it or making unenforceable rules on it.
It's in fact a bad example as in this very case, the rj script wouldn't have changed anything. czm just landed from another jump and got some bounce, so he did his rj as usual but ended up with too much horizontal speed and then it the edge (that's what he said in an itw at least).
But generally I do agree that rj can be very criticial, cf the one stermy missed to get the LG YA at the beginning of a game on dm13 in the legends tournament, that cost him a lot.
Are people really discussing this? RJ scripts are garbage. Way worse than even the worst manual RJ from some brand new player to the physics. There is no script to make complicated RJ's for particular circumstances. If there is an rj script in some pro's config, it's simply because it is residual off of someone else's shell scriptconfig. Why is it still there? I dunno, why would you bother to remove something you weren't aware of, had zero interest in it, and don't use?
